Alex Garfin (born September 9, 2004) is an American actor. [1] He voiced the character Linus in the 2015 animated comedy film The Peanuts Movie, and received a 43rd Annie Awards nomination in 2015 for Outstanding Achievement for Voice Acting in a Feature Production. He plays Jordan Kent, a son of Superman and Lois Lane, in the superhero drama television series Superman and Lois that premiered in 2021; for his performance in that role he was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Television Series in 2022.
Garfin was born and raised in Manhattan, in New York City, to Jeffrey Garfin and Karin Carnaroli Garfin. [2] [3] He has a brother, Max Garfin, who is also an actor. [1] [2] As he grew up, from the ages of 13 to 17, he felt as though he had developed into a different person each year, and then his career became a primary focus in his life. [4]
He attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan in New York City, where he was an honors student. [5] [2]
At three years old, Garfin appeared in a number of video releases for the children's network Nickelodeon. [1] At age five, with his hair and eyebrows dyed blonde, he played a a young Russian spy-in-training in the 2010 action thriller movie Salt, starring Angelina Jolie. [6] [1] In 2011 at six years old he acted in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; he has appeared in two episodes of the show. [6] [7] [8] At nine years old, in 2013 Garfin made his first appearance in an Equity production, in the Joel Grey play On Borrowed Time with the Two River Theater Company in Red Bank, New Jersey. [1]

In November 2022, Garfin performed in his first solo singing gig in Vancouver, Canada. [11] [3] He has written over 110 original songs, and plays guitar and piano. [3] [2]
Garfin plays Jordan Kent, a son of Superman and Lois Lane, in the superhero drama television series Superman and Lois that premiered in February 2021. [12] [13] [14] [8] He discovered the series on a bulletin board at his high school, and his agent booked him an audition. [2] He is the youngest actor in the series. [15] He worked with a fight trainer for a year and a half so that he could himself act in a fight scene, rather than have a double do the acting. [16] For the first two seasons he played the role of being a twin son along with Jordan Elsass who played the character Jonathan Kent, but Elsass then left the show due to struggles with his mental health; Elsass was replaced by Michael Bishop, playing Garfin's brother. [17] [18] Garfin has spent much of his time filming the show in Vancouver, Canada. [3] In 2022, Garfin was nominated for a 50th Anniversary Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Television Series. [19] A fourth season of the series was announced in June 2023.
