Abhijeet was born on January 1, 1972 in Mumbai, India. [3] He attended Stanford Graduate School of Business and received his M.tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 1994. [4]
Abhijeet worked for TCS, Cedartech and Siemens Medical Solutions before cofounding a digital pathology company, BioImagene in 2002.[ citation needed] Later in 2004, the company acquired US-based image management company, Scimagix Inc. [5] In 2006, BioImagene acquired Tissue Informatics Inc. [6] [7] [8] BioImagene was later acquired by Roche Holding AG for 100 million USD. [9] [10] [11]
Abhijeet currently holds 21 patents to his credit. [12] He is the founder of Optra Ventures, California.[ citation needed] Subsidaries of Optra Ventures include Optra Systems, Optra SCAN and Optra HEALTH. [13]
In 2010, Abhijeet cofounded Optra HEALTH, which specializes in utilizing AI to interpret genetic test reports. [14] Since 2019, he serves as the member of board of directors of a California-based, non-profit organization, TiE Silicon Valley. [3]
