Download [a] is a 1990 side-scrolling shoot 'em up video game published by NEC Avenue for the PC Engine. [1] [2] It was followed by Download 2 and also inspired an anime OVA.

While most text in the game is in Japanese, it includes infamous examples of " Engrish." [3] [4]

At the time of its release, the Famitsu review staff gave the title average ratings, complimenting its presentation and cutscenes. [5] Player One [ fr] published a highly positive review, lauding its animation and gameplay. [6] Hardcore Gaming 101 regarded the game as one of the best Japan-exclusive shooters for the PC Engine, noting nevertheless that subsequent levels are not as good as the first level. [7]
