"Down Boys", which became the band's nickname, featured the band's debut music video. The video was placed on The New York Times list of the "15 Essential Hair-Metal Videos". [3]
The song has been described as "one of the toughest, heaviest songs in [Warrant's] catalog, and certainly at the top of both categories in terms of their hit singles". [6] The song was re-recorded by the band in 1999 on its Greatest & Latest album.
