Desmond Bannister is Bahamian politician from Free National Movement.

Bannister was born in Andros. [1] He was educated in the University of West Indies and Norman Manley Law School. [1] He worked as lawyer.

Bannister was elected member of the House of Assembly of the Bahamas for Carmichael constituency. [2] He was later appointed to the Senate. [2] He was the Minister of Education from 2009 to 2012. [3]

Bannister was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Works [4] from December 2020 [5] to 2021.
