Dermot Caradoc Hudson (born 20 July 1961) is a British communist [1] political activist with close relations with North Korea. He is the Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, [2] Chairman of United Kingdom Korean Friendship Association, [3] and President of the British Association for the Study of Songun Politics. [4] [5] [6] He is a former trade unionist and civil servant. [7]
Hudson received a doctorate in socio-political science from the Pyongyang-based Korean Association of Social Scientists in April 2016, after submitting a thesis titled In Defence of Songun.
Hudson's works have been translated into Czech, [8] Serbian, [9] German, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Korean. Dr Hudson has also written articles for 'Covert Action Magazine ' , the Bangladesh 'Daily Folk ' and also in the past Pravada.ru
In 2021 Happenstance Films released the short documentary film A Friend of Kim about Hudson.
