David Fernández Cortázar (born 6 April 1985) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a central defender.
Fernández was born in Madrid. He achieved Segunda División figures of 299 games and five goals, representing CD Guadalajara (one season), Real Oviedo (two) and AD Alcorcón (five). [2] [3]
In the 2014–15 campaign, Fernández and Oviedo were crowned Segunda División B champions. [4] On 31 May 2015, he scored the only goal in the play-off finals away against Cádiz CF, with the club earning promotion to the professional leagues 12 years later. [5]
Fernández retired in June 2023 aged 38, after one year in the Primera Federación with UD Logroñés. [6] [3]
