David Barsom Perley (1901–1979) was an ethnic Assyrian and known for his cultural activities.
According to Harvard College Library, he was "an active and devoted member of the Assyrian-American community." [1] He was also known as a philosopher and nationalist who created some of the theories of Assyrian nationalism.[ citation needed] Perley was originally of the Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church, [2] and was born in Harput, Turkey. [2]
