Dan Dougherty was an American basketball coach
Dougherty was the head coach of the Army Black Knights men's basketball team for four seasons from 1971 to 1975. [1] His tenure at Army was succeeded and preceded by Basketball Hall of Famers Bobby Knight and Mike Krzyzewski. [2] He was an assistant coach with Villanova prior to coaching the Black Knights. [3]
Dougherty was also a high school basketball coach for Malvern Preparatory School and Episcopal Academy. [4] [5] He retired from coaching in 2010. [6]
Dougherty died at the age of 87 in 2022. [7]
