The Film and Media Studies program (FMS) at Tufts University, [1] formerly known as Communications and Media Studies (CMS), located in Massachusetts; it is the university's most extensive interdisciplinary minor program. [2] It offers undergraduate majors, and minors in film, and media studies and is affiliated with the Experimental College at Tufts. [3] Since 1997, FMS has awarded minors to nearly 1000 students. [4] Additionally, FMS supports student internships for academic credit in various media companies globally. [5] FMS also sponsors awards and events, such as The Edward R. Murrow Forum on Issues in Journalism, The Eliot-Pearson Awards for Excellence in Children’s Media, and the P.T. Barnum Awards for Excellence in Entertainment. [6]
