Overview

Founded in 2013, ChargeHub quickly became the go-to solution for EV drivers seeking convenience and reliability in charging options. With an intuitive interface and extensive network coverage, ChargeHub has played a pivotal role in accelerating EV adoption, making EV charging as seamless as refueling a gasoline vehicle. The company's vision is to simplify the charging experience, thereby promoting the adoption of electric transportation and contributing to a more sustainable future.

ChargeHub is renowned for its North American EV roaming [1] [2] interoperability hub - known as Passport Hub. It supports the entire automotive industry to easily interconnect and enable large-scale EV roaming to Electric Vehicle drivers. The company's unique expertise helps e-mobility service providers and charge point operators to streamline, simplify and scale EV roaming interoperability integration in North America, with more than 200,000 stations and over 90,000 charging stations payable via the ChargeHub application as of December 2024. This major innovation significantly simplifies charging for EV drivers and accelerates the electrification of transportation. ChargeHub is also the largest network-independent community-driven EV charging app in the USA and Canada, with over 1 million annual users.

History

ChargeHub was intoduced in 2013, the same year its developer, Mogile Technologies Inc., was founded. Recognizing a critical gap in public charging station awareness in Canada, the Mogile Tech team created an internal solution that culminated in the launch of the "EV Charger Locator" mobile app, which saw immediate success. This marked the genesis of ChargeHub within Mogile Technologies.

Over the years, Mogile Technologies reinvested profits from its consulting business into expanding ChargeHub. Investments were made in developing a scalable database system for hundred of thousands of ev charging locations, automating data integration processes, and enhancing user experience and community engagement.

From 2018 to 2023, ChargeHub focused on bolstering its B2B offerings and developed a comprehensive EV charging solution portfolio to support industry stakeholders in accelerating EV adoption in the USA and Canada. Key milestones include:

2018: Release of payment integration feature on ChargeHub app

2020: Technical integration of the largest peer-to-peer roaming agreement in Canada

2021: Launch of Passport Hub, the 1st EV Roaming hub in North America

2022: First eRoaming Test lab for the US and Canada

2022: Release of innovative home and public charging bundles for OEM EV adoption programs

2023: First integration of ChargeHub app as eMobility Service Provider (eMSP) with automakers and fleets

2023: Launch of AGORA [3] with industry partners to accelerate the adoption of EVs through EV roaming

Today, ChargeHub has a thriving community of more than 1 million annual users who actively use the mobile app for paying, locating charging stations, checking station availability, adding photos and comments about their charging experiences. ChargeHub remains free for EV drivers. Additionally, ChargeHub solutions are provided to assist Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Charge Point Operators (CPOs), eMobility Service Providers (eMSPs), Charge Point Management Systems (CPMS), Fleet Management companies and other industry partners in accelerating electric vehicle adoption.

Passport Hub

ChargeHub's innovative Passport Hub [4] marks a significant advancement in the EV charging industry. ChargeHub enables seamless interconnection among various partners [5] [6] [7], facilitating large-scale eroaming for EV drivers. The Passport Hub empowers Electric Mobility Service Providers (eMSPs) and Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to offer and enable roaming services efficiently, reducing complexity and fostering collaboration within the EV ecosystem. Several dozen automakers, fleets and CPOs are integrated today [8] [9] [10].

ChargeHub app

The ChargeHub app [11] is a mobile and web application which provides access to over 200,000 public charging stations for electric cars across North America, as of May, 2024, making it easier than ever to find charging stations showing live availability status, compatibility with EVs , meeting EV drivers charging preferences. The ChargeHub app is a mobile application available for ios and Android devices and can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store. The application uses data from the databases of many electric vehicle charging networks and enables payment across all compatible networks integrated into ChargeHub Passport Hub, including:
