There should be an article about "Delbana" brand. They have produced some of the most exquisite watch designs in the 1950s and 1960s. Are they still in business? I belive they have been located in Switzerland.
Could you list Cubus watches here ? It is Croatian manufacturer of fashion watches. It has wikipedia article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.138.147.110 ( talk) 11:16, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Why is Ebel not listed in this category? They are a luxury Swiss Watchmaking company that have been around for a long time. They make great watches, aka: "The architects of Time". They are a pretty well known and respected watchmaker, someone needs to add them to the list and create a page for them. They are more well known and make much nicer watches than many of the companies listed here that even have their own pages. ( 24.98.82.220 ( talk) 16:55, 9 July 2008 (UTC))
Ebel is ot listed here because there is no article on Ebel in the english language wikipedia. This page is NOT a list of Watchbrands, it is a list of watchmakers/watchbrands that have Wikipedia articles. Horology ( talk) 09:53, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
The terminology in this field is hopelessly confused, and maybe Wikipedia should set an example of beeing clearer and start using other words. Many brands do not "make" their own watches, they do not own or operate factories, they may not even be corporate entities, but divisions of larger entities, which themselves may or may not "make" watches either, they often only design and market them. Somebody should rework the Category Watchmakers in this regard.
I am also unsure if watchmakers should be a subcategory of clockmakers Horology ( talk) 10:50, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Over the last days I have created subcategories and moved most of the direct entries. The category is now designed to hold no direct entries, all should be in one or in several subcategories. Those that temporarily remain directly in watchmaker await clarification on their true nature so they can be put into the right subcategory Horology ( talk) 09:50, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
