As I see, nothing was done in response to criticism in AfD and DRV. I have an impression that someone run a bot on all German surnames and put them into Jewish surnames category. Therefore I am going to undertake a major cleanup and remove this category from all pages which seem implausible to me, unless they
I am well aware that when Jews were Baptized, they were given names in the corresponding gentile languages. Threfore a large number of Jewish surnames of "non-Jewish sound" are well-attested. In particular, quite a few of them are listed in the article Jewish surnames. I will leave the latter be as well. -
Once again, as it was said in DRV, the fact that you know a Jew with surname Smith is insufficient to put " Smith" into this category. Altenmann >t 00:29, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
