Definition

I think that the definition that the phone has Personal Information Management capabilities is insufficient. Nearly every Nokia S40 phone could be considered a smartphone by that definition. I would argue that the main defining characteristic of a smartphone is the question whether the mobile operating system supports installing applications beyond Java and BREW applications.
