The title of this category does not clearly describe all the contents. It is apparently intended to correspond to the traditional librarian's term, "serials" defined as including all possible types of serials publications. But this term is not used in this sense anywhere else. Even catalogers have abandoned it for the more esoteric "Continuing publications".
I suggest one of two possible changes:
Category: Serials, periodicals, magazines, and journals. (it also includes newspapers, but that does not seem to confuse anyone), or
Category: continuing publications. (in which case we'd probably need an article for that as well)
Opinions are welcome. I've been meaning to clear this up for some time, but I need advice. DGG01:36, 14 April 2007 (UTC)reply
I'm not keen on 'continuing publications' - too arcane for everyday users using the categories to navigate.
