Three problems

  1. First, there is this Category:Palestinian terrorist incidents in Europe category, but the majority of the incidents included (before I removed a bunch) were actually attacks by the Abu Nidal organization or attacks that are suspected to be connected to Abu Nidal. Abu Nidal, while you can say he is Palestinian, he is really a unique character who did many of his later attacks for reasons that were not connected to the Palestinian national struggle (such as his mercenary work for Libya.) Would it be possible to create a new category something along the lines of Category:Abu Nidal Organization or something similar for these attacks and alleged connections rather associating them specifically with the Palestinian cause? -- Abnn 00:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC) reply
  2. Second, (and it ties in with the first request above, or is at least complementary) I would like to request that the attacks categorized as "Palestinian" be specifically associated with the Palestinian nationalist movement, rather than just attacks done someone of Palestinian origin for ambiguous or non-nationalist motives (such as most of those by Abu Nidal.) Otherwise, the category comes across unnecessarily prejudicial. -- Abnn 00:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC) reply
  3. Third, I think that this category may be a deletion candidate because it is a combination of three attributes: (1) Palestinian perpetrators, (2) incidences of terrorism, and (3) the European geographical location. As I understand it, categories right now are limited to combinations of only two attributes. -- Abnn 00:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC) reply

Hi Abnn, I started off this category since I was working on something else Category:Islamist terrorism in Europe, which is a sub-category of Category:Islamist terrorism. I encountered terrorism which was not local nationalist (IRA, Basque), not left-wing extremist and not Islamist and I was trying to organize it. You took out hezbollah attacks, which I mistakenly attributed to Palestinian terrorism, and which probably should be under Islamist terrorism. I am interested in the European aspect. There are categories "per country", but there is not one category that shows the different groups attacking across the continent, and that's what I was trying to put together. I was hoping to also do the same for left-wing attacks and anybody else i found who did "across-europe" terror. It should also probably be renamed "palestinian terrorism in europe". How would you categorize Abu Nidal attacks against Jewish and Israeli targets in Europe? Misheu 08:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC) reply
It's important to remember that Palestinians, including leading Palestinian nationalists such as Abu Iyad, Naim Khader and Issam Sartawi, were murdered by Abu Nidal's organisation. How should we categorise them? RolandR 18:37, 31 May 2007 (UTC) reply
