Since there is a [Category:Information, knowledge, and uncertainty], why is there a [Category:Information]? Shouldn't there be just one? And most of all, this shouldn't be under the Fundamental category because [Category:Information, knowledge, and uncertainty] is under the [Category:Knowledge] which traces up to [Category:Thought]. I just am putting this out there before I change things up. Esnaz ( talk) 01:25, 23 April 2008 (UTC) reply

Hi, as far as categorization is concerned, higher level concepts serve as base categories for lower level concepts. Among data, information, and knowledge the order is this:
Data is of highest level among the three, hence, Category:Data serves as a base category for Category:Information.
Information is next, so, Category:Information is in Category:Data while it is a base category for Category:Knowledge, and the same rules follow for knowledge. Thanks, Sa'y ( talk) 05:32, 23 December 2009 (UTC) reply

Category:Information is a sub-category of Category:Data. Category:Data is a sub-category of Category:Information. Which is the tail and which the dog? — Robert Greer ( talk) 14:48, 17 March 2011 (UTC) reply
