When I first created this category, I was well aware that there was a number of categories, and that it would likely need to be cleaned up. However, the sheer number, both of categories and content within, is staggering.
I have begun this project and fully intend to see it through, but I would like for other editors to be able to add their own suggestions. Specifically, I have considered merging the category tree of cat:Cats with this category tree (the two subjects are very similar).
If anyone would like to comment, please do so here.-- SilverTiger12 ( talk) 14:54, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
Two issues: there is a massive container category called
Category:Cat breeds by country of origin. It is filled with single-article categories (only one or two have multiple articles). The second issue is the current set-up of
Category:Fictional felids and
Category:Cats in popular culture, specifically with the categories :Cats in entertainment and related. Should these be merged, so that fictional characters are organized by where from (comics, books, movies, etc.)? And should the current structure of :... about cats remain, or be moved to :Cats in ...?
I also propose splitting Category:Cats in films, to include the following subcats: :Documentaries about cats; :Cats in TV series; :TV series about cats (with restricted focus to TV series that focus solely on cats); and :Cats in movies.-- SilverTiger12 ( talk) 16:11, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
