Abbreviated months

I just converted a Noreferences template to a Refimprove in the first section of the Nagoya article. At the bottom the category "Articles needing additional references from Nov 2009" was added, and was redlinked. I came here to see what's up, and I find an existing category, "Articles needing additional references from November 2009". I wonder why the article template draws an incorrect, abbreviated, redlinked category instead of the correct unabbreviated one?
