This category is for municipalities in the province of Álava ( Basque: Araba), in the autonomous community of Basque Country (Basque: Euskadi, Spanish: País Vasco).

The country of Spain is administratively divided into seventeen autonomous communities (comunidades autónomas), and five enclaves of sovereignty ( plazas de soberanía) on the African coast, which include the two autonomous cities (ciudades autónomas) of Ceuta and Melilla).

These seventeen autonomous communities group together and preserve some fifty Provinces {provincias), which have an older historical formation.

Within each autonomous community/province are numerous local government divisions, or municipalities, generally centered around a city, town, village or rural area.
