The S68 plan was a common design for New Zealand secondary schools opened between 1971 and 1979. It is characterised by single-storey classroom blocks of concrete block or masonry construction, with low-pitched roofs and internal open courtyards. Protruding clerestory windows featured in schools built up to 1976, whereas S68 blocks built from 1977 and those pre-1977 blocks that have been re-roofed feature skylights instead.
