It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south of Andrychów, 15 km (9 mi) south-west of Wadowice, and 52 km (32 mi) south-west of the regional capital Kraków. [1]
During the German occupation of Poland ( World War II), in 1942, the German gendarmerie carried out expulsions of Poles, whose houses and farms were then handed over to German colonists as part of the Lebensraum policy. [2] Expelled Poles were enslaved as forced labour of new German colonists. [2]
