Bribie Island State High School is a public, co-educational, high school, located in the suburb of Bongaree on Bribie Island, Queensland, Australia. The school opened on 23 January 1989, [4] serving as the prototype of the new HS88 Design Series, [5] a design used by the Department of Education for constructing new high school buildings.[ citation needed] In 2019, a teacher at the school pleaded guilty to six child exploitation charges, 'five counts of distributing and one count of possessing child exploitation material,' which effectively ended his career as a teacher.
