Brandon Ewing, known online as Atrioc, is an American Twitch live streamer, YouTuber and speedrunner known for his frequent collaborations with fellow streamer and ASU alumnus Ludwig Ahgren. He is known for his marketing-related series Marketing Monday, using his prior experience to give presentations within the marketing field to his audience. Ewing is also a former world record holder in speedrunning the video game series Hitman. He began streaming consistently at the beginning of 2020, and has over 590,000 YouTube subscribers and 337,000 Twitch followers as of May 2023. [2]
During college, Ewing was an avid League of Legends player, eventually reaching rank 13 in North America during the game's second season in 2012. [3] While studying at Arizona State University, he founded the university's Esports Club, which he himself attended. [4][ non-primary source needed]
After graduating with a degree in marketing, Ewing started his career at Twitch in February 2014 as a marketing and content manager, [5][ non-primary source needed] before moving on to work under marketing at Nvidia. [6][ when?]
Ewing is active in the Super Smash Bros. Melee[ citation needed] and Hitman speedrunning scene. [7]
During September 2021, Ewing's Twitch account was banned. [8] Twitch did not officially disclose a reason, but according to win.gg, he was banned while browsing Wikipedia on stream and stopping on a page showing an image of a penis. [9]
In 2021, Ewing became the 975th highest-ranked Age of Empires IV player. [10]
During the controversy surrounding Valkyrae's endorsement contract with RFLCT, Ewing continued to stream. Whilst streaming, Ewing unintentionally leaked conversations between Valkyrae and Ludwig about Valkyrae's considerations of leaving RFLCT and her contract. [11] It was seen that Valkyrae felt she "messed up" due to Ewing's leak of the Discord conversation. [12] This incident was seen as a pivotal point in wrapping up the RFLCT drama.[ by whom?]
On the launch day of Elden Ring in early 2022, Ewing gained attention after spending seven hours attempting to beat the first optional boss. [13] He founded a content creation agency, Offbrand, in September 2022 with Ludwig Ahgren, Stanz, and Nick Allen. [14]
During a live stream on January 30, 2023, Ewing accidentally revealed a browser tab with a pornographic website selling deepfakes of other live streamers, including Pokimane and QTCinderella. [15] [16] [17] In response to the controversy, Ewing apologized and resigned from Offbrand. [18] QTCinderella described her friendship with him as irreparable following the incident. [19] [20] In the following months, Ewing spent more than USD$100,000 [21] to take down other deepfake porn images across the internet, working with QTCinderella, among others. [22] [23] According to independent analyst Genevieve Oh, web traffic for deepfake pornography exploded after the incident. [24] Following the events, Ewing, with the help of Genevieve Oh, started writing a piece that he hopes to publish with BBC. [25]
