Benhamipolynoe cairnsi has 10 pairs of elytra (fewer than Benhamipolynoe antipathicola) and the preserved specimens studied thus far are not known to be pigmented. [3]
Benhamipolynoe cairnsi has a commensal relationship with the stylasterid coral Conopora adeta.
