The Battle of Lazikou, also known as the Battle of Lazikou Pass, took place in September 1935 during the Chinese Civil War. [1]

Battle

On 15 September 1935, leader of Chinese Communist Party Mao Zedong ordered that Lazikou should be taken within two days. On 16 September 1935, forces from the Chinese Communist Party attack the Lazikou Pass. Initially, the attacks were repelled by nationalist forces. After the Communist army regrouped, they successfully launched an attack at night where 60 men ambushed the nationalist troops and allowed a new offensive to begin. The communist troops soon captured the pass. [2] The victory at Lazikou allowed the Kuomintang's encirclement to be broken. [3]
