Barbara Bączek-Motała (born 26 July 1972 [1] in Iława) is a Polish orienteer. [2] [3] [4] [5]
As a junior, Bączek won two gold medals in the short/middle distance and classic/long distance at the 1992 Junior World Championships in Jyväskylä. [2] She also competed at the 1992 World University Orienteering Championships in Aberdeen. [3]
Her best result in the World Championships was 6th in the long distance in 2003, she also competed in 2001, 1999, 1997, 1995, 1993 and 1991. [6]
At the 2001 World Games, Bączek was a member of the team from Poland which finished 4th in the mixed relay event [7] and she competed in the women's individual event. [8]
THE World Junior Orienteering Championships in Finland have turned up a possible top athlete of tomorrow with Poland's Barbara Baczek adding the women's classic to her short-distance title win on Tuesday.
WORLD short-course champion Jana Cieslarova (Czechoslovakia) and double junior world champion Barbara Baczek (Poland) head the top international women's line-up released yesterday for next week's World Student championships at Aboyne.
