B. N. Ravi Kumar (born 1 January 1969) is an Indian politician from Karnataka. He is an MLA from Sidlaghatta Assembly constituency in Chikkaballapura district. He represented Janata Dal (Secular) party. He won the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election as an independent candidate. [1] [2]

Early life and education

Kumar is from Sidlaghatta, in the erstwhile Kolar district, which is presently in Chikkaballapura district. His father B. Narayanaswamy is a farmer. He discontinued his education after passing Class 7 from Government Higher Primary School, Malur in 1988. [3]

Career

Kumar won from Sidlaghatta Assembly constituency representing Janata Dal (Secular) in the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election. He polled 68,932 votes and defeated his nearest rival, Puttu Anjinappa, an independent candidate, by a margin of 16,772 votes. [4] [5] [6] Earlier, he lost the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election.
