Avellinia is a genus of Mediterranean plants in the grass family. [2] [3] [4] The only known species is Avellinia festucoides, found throughout much of the Mediterranean Region from Portugal and Morocco to Turkey. [1] [5] [6] It is also reportedly naturalized in Australia. [7]
The type species is Avellinia michelii (Savi) Parl. [8]
