Aspergillus oerlinghausenensis is an anamorph species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus which has been isolated from soil in Germany. [1] [2] It is from the Fumigati section. [1] Several fungi from this section produce heat-resistant ascospores, and the isolates from this section are frequently obtained from locations where natural fires have previously occurred. [3] The species was first described in 2015. [1]
A. oerlinghausenensis has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
