Ángeles is a barrio in the municipality of Utuado, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 3,056. [3] [4] [5]
Ángeles is situated at an elevation of 1,276 feet (389 m) west of Caguana in Utuado, Puerto Rico. It has an area of 11.91 square miles (30.8 km2) of which 0.02 square miles (0.052 km2) is water. [1]
Ángeles was in Spain's gazetteers [6] until Puerto Rico was ceded by Spain in the aftermath of the Spanish–American War under the terms of the Treaty of Paris of 1898 and became an unincorporated territory of the United States. In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a census of Puerto Rico finding that the population of Ángeles barrio was 2,456. [7]
