Andrej Milović has been the Minister of Justice in the 44th Government of Montenegro since October 31, 2023 and a member of the National Security Council. He is a member of the Presidency of the " Europe Now!" Movement and the President of the Committee for Justice.

Early life and education

Milović graduated from the Faculty of State and European Studies (FDES, Podgorica) and specialized in European Studies at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Montenegro. He also graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of the Mediterranean, and specialized in the field of Judiciary at the Faculty of Law, University of Montenegro.

He attended numerous political academies and programs in Montenegro and abroad, organized by renowned international organizations and political parties, including the International Republican Institute (IRI), Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Hans Seidel Foundation and the UK Conservative Party.

He is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships for academic achievements and became a member of MENSA at the age of 20.

He spent part of his childhood in Portugal, on the island of Madeira, where his mother played professional handball.

A Formula 1 enthusiast, sports lover, especially basketball which he also trained, and a fan of good music. During his education, he also learned to play the piano.

Law and real estate career

Throughout his career, Milović worked as a lawyer at the renowned law firm "Prelević," representing and advising foreign clients in the areas of business, administrative and property law, with a special focus on foreign investments in real estate, economic citizenship, and innovative activities, with a focus on blockchain technology.

He started his professional career at Project-Consulting d.o.o. Podgorica, a company founded by the Government of Montenegro, as an assistant coordinator for international cooperation on infrastructure projects in the environmental sector, financed by international financial institutions, primarily the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Political career

In the 42nd Government, he served as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights, and was a member of the Prosecutorial Council of Montenegro. He became the State Secretary from the position of the Director of the Directorate for Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies at the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare of the Government of Montenegro.

In August 2022, he joined the " Europe Now!" Movement (PES) and became a member of the movement's Presidency, later appointed as the President of the Legal Council of PES. He joined the " Europe Now!" Movement with the intention to contribute significantly to the political fight for strengthening the rule of law, reforming the judicial system and eradicating corruption among the holders of judicial functions.

Since the beginning of his political engagement in PES, Milović has been recognized as one of the most promising politicians in Montenegro and one of the most well-known members. He is the main author of one of the two pillars of PES's policy, the "Justice Now" program, which implies deep and decisive reforms of the Montenegrin judiciary.
