Adenanthera bicolor is a species of plant in the family Fabaceae. It is found in Malaysia, [2] [3] and Sri Lanka.
According to the World Checklist of Vascular Plants, the name Adenanthera bicolor is synonym with Adenanthera aglaosperma; [4] but The Plant List cited A. bicolor as "a misapplied name: In the past this name has been erroneously used to refer to Adenanthera aglaosperma Alston". [5] A more recent version gives the species as Adenanthera aglaosperma (accepted name) since December 2022, with A. bicolor as a synonym. [6]
It is classed as a threatened species, with an abundance percentage of only 0.06%. [7]
Its seed, red with a black dot at the tip, [8] can be confused with that of Abrus precatorius. [9]
