Abezhdan ( Persian: ابژدان) [a] is a city in, and the capital of, Abezhdan District of Andika County, Khuzestan province, Iran. [4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 789 in 146 households, when it was in Abezhdan Rural District of the former Andika District of Masjed Soleyman County. [5] The following census in 2011 counted 956 people in 208 households, [6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of the new Andika County. [4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,673 people in 420 households, when the village had been elevated to the status of a city. [2]
