UK national government awards list for the Commonwealth
The New Year Honours 1975 were appointments in many of the
Commonwealth realms of Queen
Elizabeth II to
various orders and honours to reward and highlight good works by citizens of those countries. They were announced on 1 January 1975 to celebrate the year passed and mark the beginning of 1975.[1] These countries include Papua New Guinea,[2] New Zealand,[3] Mauritius,[4] Fiji,[5] and Grenada.[6]
The recipients of honours are displayed here as they were styled before their new honours.
At this time the two lowest classes of the Royal Victorian Order were "Member (fourth class)" and "Member (fifth class)", both with
post-nominals MVO. "Member (fourth class)" was renamed "Lieutenant" (LVO) from the 1985 New Year Honours onwards.
