- Edwin Howard Armstrong, working as a captain in the Signal Corps (United States Army) in Paris, perfects the eight-tube superheterodyne circuit. [2]
- Radio San Paolo, the Regia Marina (Italian Navy) Radiotelegraphic Station, is established in Rome.[ citation needed]
