Alejandro "Álex" Jiménez Sánchez (born 8 May 2005) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a full-back for Serie A club AC Milan, on loan from Primera Federación – Group 2 club Real Madrid Castilla.
Born in Madrid and raised in Talavera de la Reina, Jiménez started his career with local sides Talavera and UD Talavera. [3] [4] [5] He joined Real Madrid in 2012, and initially started his career as a forward, before moving to right-wing, and eventually right-back. [4] His performances for the youth teams of Real Madrid caught the attention of German side Bayern Munich and English side Chelsea. [6]
Despite this interest, he signed his first professional contract with Los Blancos until 2027, making him one of the highest paid Castilla players. [7]
On 25 July 2023, Jiménez was loaned to Italian club AC Milan for the 2023–24 season with an option to make the move permanent, he initially joined the under-19 roster. [8] After having been training with the AC Milan senior team, he received his first call-up for the 1–0 Serie A home loss match against Juventus on 23 October 2023 featuring in the bench but yet to make his debut. [9]
Jiménez made his debut and first start for AC Milan on 2 January 2024 against Cagliari in a 4–1 Coppa Italia home win match. [10]
Jiménez has represented Spain at youth international levels, featuring for the U15s, U17s and the U19s. [1]
Strong and aggressive in duels, Jiménez is also noted for his rapid pace, good anticipation and wide passing range. [4] He lists Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold as a player he admires. [4]
