this should be simple but I'm having trouble inserting an image into a biography page. Advice? Candice Wilmore ( talk) 17:13, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
Hello. I've never written an article before, so I'm sure I have issues. I am trying to publish this stub: Draft:Glamour Shots
I keep getting rejected for my citations, but I have 3 news outlet sources including the NY times all with a focus on the subject. I know there are strict rules for publication, but Glamour Shots is a highly recognizable business name, and they produced a highly recognizable aesthetic that helped to define the 1990s. There has to be a way to make this work. I just wanted to get a stub in there to get started. Khabuda ( talk) 02:04, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
A stub is an article deemed too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject.. I do not understand why an editor would set out to write a stub in 2022. I have been an active editor for 13 years and have written over 100 new articles. None of them are stubs and I never intend to write a stub. Maybe stubs were appropriate way back in the early days of Wikipedia but this project is 22 years old now and has over 6.5 million articles. What we need instead are new articles that "provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject". Cullen328 ( talk) 04:53, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

/info/en/?search=Habiru has both BC and BCE, sometimes in the same sentence; in one of them BCE was changed to to BC recently. From a quick look at Teahouse archives I get the impression that the policy is to to use BCE rather than BC in articles like this. Is there a general policy about the use of BCE and CE rather than BC and AD? Presumably use should be consistent in all articles. Mcljlm ( talk) 01:07, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
I'm having a hard time understanding this one. At Hunter Biden laptop controversy, the first sentence states: "The Hunter Biden laptop controversy involves a laptop computer that belonged to Hunter Biden," - there was a recent change that removed the word "allegedly" from the last part. It used to say "that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden". However, the rest of the lead, and indeed, the rest of the article, is quite clear on the point that reliable sources consistently describe the laptop's origin as unknown, and that it may have belonged to Hunter Biden at one point, and such ownership has never been proven.
How can we state, in Wikipedia's voice, that the laptop belonged to Hunter Biden, in the first sentence of the article, when the rest of the article clearly states that no one is sure if Hunter Biden owned it? Isn't this a violation of some sort of policy? Wes sideman ( talk) 13:38, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

Hello. I got pinged by the discussion on Cullen's talk page, User_talk:Cullen328#Our_discussion_from_Teahouse, responded there in some detail, and got curious enough to follow back here. I'm a Commons license reviewer which is the mechanism we have for answering the original question asked here, "what if the video that I have taken as source for uploading a image to Wikimedia commons gets deleted.....will my image also get deleted"? Commons has a number of people that go and review the licenses on images from videos and other web pages, and mark them with a template that says "I verify that at this date, this image was actually marked with this license on this web page". That's called https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:License_review. That way if the video gets deleted, we generally take the reviewer's word for it. It's a position of some trust, not quite as much as being an administrator (all Commons administrators are also License reviewers automatically), but still requires noticeable experience with telling when images are likely truly licensed, and when they probably aren't correctly licensed. You put a https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:LicenseReview tag on your image and in theory a License reviewer will eventually get to it. Of course, like so much on our volunteer project, the backlog with images waiting to be License reviewed is noticeable, so if you are really worried about specific videos vanishing, you can ask specific license reviewers to prioritize specific images.
Oh, the second part of the question "and will I become responsible?" - Commons definitely won't get mad at you because the source video vanished, that happens. In fact, Commons probably won't even get mad at you if you upload a few incorrectly licensed images in good faith - that are a number of people on YouTube and Flickr and other sites that put fake licenses on their images that they don't really own the rights to, and it can be hard to tell. We've got a whole list of Flick accounts we don't trust, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Questionable_Flickr_images, and that list grows regularly. We can only do the best we can. I've been uploading images for years, I've uploaded over 3000, I'm an experienced License reviewer, and even I occasionally make mistakes. Now if you make a habit of uploading copyright violations, especially after you've had it explained to you how to tell, then you'll get blocked. But if you make a mistake in good faith, you'll be all right. -- GRuban ( talk) 14:29, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

Hello sir/madam, I have recently created a article by translating it from another language Wikipedia into English using Wikipedia:Content translation tool. A 5 day old user placed a maintanence tag stating that it is promotional content. I accept that there might be some mistakes due to the translation tool that literally translates the content. I then immediately changed to normal tone removing any content looking like promotional. Can someone please review it? I feel the article needs more citations but it's not a promotional content. Please review the article: Kalpika Ganesh. And to mention this person who placed the maintenance tag is a 5day old user and when I checked his talk page there is already a discussion asking him what he is doing in the Articles for deletion area. So if anyone can help me in this please guide me. And also try to educate the person about Wikipedia. Thank you 456legend( talk) 17:04, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
Hi editors,
I'm Ben and I work for Grayscale Investments. I've been trying to seek help with improving a draft I created for Grayscale and am confused about how to proceed, and feel I've gotten some conflicting responses. I understand that I have a conflict of interest and editors are wary of those who are paid, but I have done my best to follow all the rules and write in a neutral way.
I have been told that because I have a COI, it is "unlikely" I could ever write an unbiased article. When I asked for specific tips on how to improve the draft at WikiProject Companies I was told that I would not be helped because of my COI. I've also asked for help at WikiProject Cryptocurrency and WikiProject Finance & Investment.
So I'm a little confused. I have tried to follow the rules, and been told both that I can't create something that follows the guidelines and it's my responsibility to write something that follows the guidelines but I won't receive help because I have a COI. What I'm really looking for is someone to point out specific language that is problematic or other issues with the draft. I'm not sure how to proceed at this point. My original draft was deleted for "unambiguous promotion" before I could ask any questions of the reviewing editor. The draft I uploaded is virtually identical to that initial draft, only the short description has been removed. My goal is to make a valuable contribution to Wikipedia, but I'm not sure where to go to get feedback on the draft content itself. Any help or insight anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. I hear help is friendly at the Teahouse. I would be very appreciative of some help. I have been editing pages on and off for about 3-years. I went to an index page that had several persons with the same name listed but the person I was searching for was missing, so I decided to create my very first article! I'm excited. Here is the index page I saw (and interesting to note, a couple of those links lead to one-sentence stubs). And here is the draft I created. I recently submitted it for review. I am grateful for feedback, direction, advice, etc. Thank you! JD ( talk) 01:39, 27 October 2022 (UTC)

So I asked a while back on writing an article about the book God Is My Co-Pilot, inspiration for the film God is my Co-Pilot. So I have two questions.
1) Where is the best place to find reviews or papers talking about a book that is 79 years old?
2) The Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, GA has an exhibit on Robert Lee Scott, Jr. and his book. Will the film about him, his accomplishments, and the book, and the accompanying exhibit be considered an impartial source, therefore, useable for an article?
Thanks, A1139530 ( talk) 12:35, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
Hello A1139530. In regards to the film documentary made by the museum, did any newspapers or magazines do a review of it? If so, a review would be easier to cite as a reference. Since Scott worked for the museum that might bias them to some extent, but if the museum has a good reputation it should be considered reliable.
As for finding reviews for a 79 year old book, some large libraries (both public and college) have bound copies of old magazines, and / or microfilm rolls of old newspapers, such as The New York Times. If you could find a source stating a newspaper or magazine reviewed the book on a certain date, that would make it easier to find the review, as opposed to looking through weeks of issues in search of one. If the book has a good reputation for accuracy there may be history books on military aviation that mentions the book, or may give a short quote from it. (If the new book does no more than list God is My Co-Pilot as having been written, that won’t be helpful, but if it states the book is important, or a good source of accurate information, that could help show notability.) Go to as many libraries as you can and check history book indexes.
Have you read the books listed in the bibliography of the Robert Lee Scott, Jr. article? They may give useful information about God is My Co-Pilot. Best wishes on completing your article draft. Karenthewriter ( talk) 16:21, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
I am writing a bio article for an academic. I submitted the article, and it was rejected because my sources were not "reliable". I asked why, and was told because they were connected to the subject of the bio. So they told me one thing I could do is use Google Scholar to find articles he has written, and to see how many times they were cited. He had over 100 scholarly articles published, and I did the search and they all came up, and I can see that each of them was cited many times by others. I'm writing to ask how I can use this in my article in such a way that it's accepted. Can I provide a link to the search results generally? Or, so I have to just provide links to individual papers?

Hello,
I was going to try and edit a page and then found their was so much that needs to be corrected I didn't exactly know what to do. Maybe I am wrong to think it needs to be edited at all? Hope I can get some help with this.
Earlier I was trying to get specific information from the page Category:Cleaning product brands and found it to be incomplete/missing information.
First, I noticed the page only lists brands with actual pages on Wikipedia in the category. I was expecting to find a complete list of cleaning brands, not just the brands with pages on the site.
Second I found the list is omitting some major brands that actually do have pages created such as:
Persil Laundry Detergents
Spic and Span All-Purpose Cleaning Products
OxiClean All-Purpose Cleaning Products
Just to name a few.
Third, I noticed there are many brands not listed on the current page at all, including (Note: the following brands have not been checked to see if a page has already been made.):
All Laundry Detergent
Arm Hammer Laundry Detergents
Bon Ami Cleaning Products
Cascade Dishwasher Products
Fabuloso All-Purpose Cleaners
Finish Dishwasher Products
Formula 409 Multi-purpose Cleaners
Gain Laundry Cleaning Products
Goo Gone All-Purpose Cleaner
Kaboom! Household Cleaners
Method Cleaning Products
Mrs. Myers Household Cleaners
Pine Sol Multi-purpose Cleaner
Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner
The Pink Stuff All-Purpose Cleaners
I feel the "Category: Cleaning Product Brands" page should include all brands of cleaning products whether they have a page on Wikipedia or not.
Another thing I noticed was that this page was last edited on 14 May 2018, at 18:35. Does it need to be updated?
Thank you for helping me with this.

In the article on Wm. Cowpers Brann the article states " On April 1, 1898, Brann was walking alone on Waco's Fourth Street when he was shot in the back by Tom Davis, a Baylor supporter whose daughter was a student at the University." Brann was not alone, as he was accompanied by W.H. Ward who grabbed Davis' gun preventing him from firing until he (Ward) was shot in the hand. Ward was tried but acquitted and told to leave town for his own safety. Davis had 5 daughters and one son. Dear Editors: Greetings, Raylaur 15 here. I am interested in creating a new wiki article on West Indian soca arranger and pianist Frankie McIntosh. I believe he meets your "notable" criteria, as he arranged the music and played on hundreds of influential scoa (soul/calypso music from Trinidad)) recordings during the 1980s and 1990s. He worked with all the big stars--Sparrow, Lord Kitchner Calypso Rose, Chalkdust, and scores of others. His accomplishments are well documented in the Caribbean press and in several scholarly sources.
I have now edited ten Wikipedia pages over the past week (Oct 21-25) as follows: Calypso Rose Soca Music Calypso Music Latin Jazz Granville Straker Mighty Shadow Steel Pan List Caribbean Music Genres Lord Kitchener Mighty Sparrow
Am I now eligible to write an original Wikipedia article? Is there some official approval protocol I need to go through, or can I simply go ahead and write and submit the article?
Please advise.

Some websites like The Wayback Machine don't have the secure S after the HTTP but still the bots and people change it to HTTPS anyway.
Most of the time it doesn't really matter, as the HTTPS links will redirect to the original HTTP url when you click on it.
However I've noticed some websites in the past which don't redirect to the original HTTP url, so it will look like the website which was originally added as a reference or an external link, is dead to people who have never visited that website before, therefore it could end up getting removed or replaced. Hi, we recently did some more work on a draft page in our sandbox and I think it was sent to 'publish' rather than 'submit for review'. It has since been speedily deleted without us being able to address some identified problems. How can we get it sent back into our sandbox so that we can resolve the problems with it? Thanks Tekcorps ( talk) 10:45, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
While the recent attempt was Speedy deleted for copyright infringement, there still exists an older draft at User:Tekcorps/sandbox/Bill Higson Memorial Cyclo-Cross which needs to be Speedy deleted for same reason, i.e., appears to be a direct copy from https://readingcyclingclub.org/in-memoriam/bill-higson/. I'm looking at
this search query for the phrase {{subst:submit}}
in the draftspace an I'm noticing that around 60 articles exist that failed to properly transclude the substitution that would submit their draft. I'd like to fix this by substituting the templates manually myself, but
this causes me to get talk page messages whenever those submissions are declined or commented on. Does anyone here know a way to transclude the proper template for AfC review into the page in a way that lets me specify who the submitter is? —

I noticed an ongoing conversation on this talk page about an artists' guilty plea to domestic violence charges a few years ago (with supporting citations); info which was later removed from the article through a talk page request by a conflict of interest editor supposedly providing his own proof (via Google Drive). How do I know if my idea has been proposed before or not? I don't want to suggest something that's been swatted down a hundred times. In Visual Editor, I've been trying to get a citation generated from an ISBN. It's failed on three out of the last three reports I've tried:
Am I doing something wrong? Or am I unlucky with what reports I want to cite? Or is generating citations from ISBNs just generally flaky? Clayoquot ( talk | contribs) 15:58, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
I'm preparing to give a couple of training sessions to new-ish users and I'm hoping to make citations as straightforward as possible. The Visual Editor is great for citing a website or journal article. With books/reports, I tend to go to source view and use the SFN template, but I'm hoping I don't have to teach new editors to use the SFN template. Or source view at all.
Say I've already used the Manual tab in the Insert Citation dialog box to insert a citation to page 5 of a book. Now, several paragraphs later in the same article, I want to add a citation to the same book, but this time the citation should say page 100 instead of page 5. What is the simplest way to do this? If I use the "Re-use" tab, it will change both citations to say page 100. Clayoquot ( talk | contribs) 16:21, 1 November 2022 (UTC)

Therefore, I went through the article again, removing some potentially promo passages.
Following the latest edits, it seems to me that what is left is only neutral information: what do you think? Is there something that I could further improve or delete? You can read the full draft here.

I am wanting to make a page about the Leo and Satan animated web series created by Chris O'Neill, but I see that a page that previously existed on the topic was deleted due to lack of notability. This page was deleted more than 11 years ago, and since then I believe that the subject has become more notable. All of the animated episodes that were uploaded to YouTube have received millions of views (the episode, "Algebra Aversion" received more than 12 million). I have reviewed Wikipedia's notability page, and I believe that this topic is notable enough to warrant it's own page. I was recently involved in a BLP content dispute at Talk:Christian Kälin#Unexplained removals of sourced content, WP:COATRACK additions. So the question is, if I'm involved and SMcCandlish is now involved as well after having provided a third opinion, then who should implement the consensus? I've asked about this before but didn't get much of an actual response. I would like to know if anyone has any advice about how to integrate inclusion criteria into the prose of an article's intro. Specifically, the Characters in the Mario franchise article has the common list selection criteria #1, that each entry should meet the notability criteria for its own article in the English Wikipedia. However, this criteria has not been made clear in the prose of the article's intro, and I'm not sure the best way to incorporate it organically. Any advice on this would be much appreciated. Some quality examples of this done effectively could also be helpful. Thanks! Landfish7 ( talk) 00:44, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I'm having trouble understanding what images can and cannot be used on Wikipedia. I'm getting set to create a new page on a fairly technical subject. Diagrams are the only way to illustrate some of these technicalities & specifications. The best diagram has "Copyright © Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute, Inc. All rights reserved. No part of this publication may be reproduced in any form, in an electronic retrieval system or otherwise, without the prior written permission of the publisher" on the bottom. I see that others have used images from the same source ( SAAMI) & some have omitted the image but included the data & cited it. (Ex: /info/en/?search=Nosler_cartridges#.22_Nosler cites "SAAMI New Cartridge & Chamber Introduction 22 Nosler" (PDF). Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute. Retrieved September 23, 2020." but does not use the image.)
I have found a less-comprehensive diagram directly from the inventor/manufacturer with no copyright disclaimer of any kind.
What is the best way to handle this? Can I use the SAAMI image if properly cited, or go with the manufacturer's image that does not indicate any copyright?
Thank you in advance! IDGuy ( talk) 22:45, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
I am struggling to add the references 1, 2, 3, Paragraph 1 could have the words 'by only opposing the episiotomy wound edges, but without anastomosing (suturing) the arteries and nerves individually, so restoring blood flow and nerve impulse flow to the pelvic floor muscles, four fifths of the pelvic floor muscle on the side of the episiotomy atrophies or dies (2.), weakening 'the pelvic floor muscles' - the foundation of the lower abdomen, predisposing to prolapse into the vagina of the urinary bladder, the rectum and uterus; and as the major cause of death of mothers during childbirth in the western world is from 'Post-Partum Haemorrhage'(PPH) i.e., blood loss during birth, episiotomy, the cutting through the pelvic floor muscles, which have a rich supply of blood, episiotomy becomes a contributory factor in death of mother. Episiotomy has been shown to produce greater blood loss than that associated with Caesareans section (3). Cutting through skin and pelvic floor muscle enables bacteria to enter and deep-seated infection (necrotising fasciitis) to take hold, which can progress to sepsis and death of mother (2). Episiotomy predisposing to infections requiring antibiotics, enables bacteria to become resistant to more of our antibiotics, hastens the day when bacteria will be resistant to all our antibiotics and invasive surgery will no longer be possible. Perineal Massage to 10cm diameter, whether by fingertip or by birth training devices, Epi-no Delphine Plus or Aniball, avoids all these complications and is painless and is now being seen as the best alternative to episiotomy. Discussion: Paragraph 1, adding 'Female Genital Mutilation, like episiotomy, damages erectile tissue, but FGM does not damage the pelvic floor muscles, the foundation of the lower abdomen, so episiotomy is falling out of favour and episiotomy may one day join such extinct medical procedures such as high forceps delivery, symphysiotomy, and foetal decapitation, which are now considered crude and barbaric, but were once widely practiced.

When there are multiple names for a subject, all of which are fairly common, and the most common has problems, it is perfectly reasonable to choose one of the others.- thus sayeth WP:COMMONNAME, and it's the only wiggle room I see. "Problems" is a bit ambiguous; there's an earlier mention of vulgarity, so it's not completely an issue of ambiguity or the like. I don't know where this "harm" you mention falls on the scale between "increases the threat of physical or political violence towards them" and "makes them unhappy"; that'd probably be a factor in such decisions.

I would like to add a link to the list of Message-ID lookup services on the Message-ID page.
The Message-ID included in the URL looks like an email address and so it is blocked by the email address filter, even though it is not an email address, but an email Message-ID instead.
As I understand it, the email address filter aims to prevent people from being spammed when their addresses are added to Wikipedia. The URL I want to add is not an email address and couldn't result in spam to anyone. So I think I should be allowed to add it to the page despite being blocked by the filter.
I appealed the filter block but the appeal was denied by User:Compassionate727 and they asked me to make an edit request instead.
Then the edit request wizard said the Message-ID page is not protected and so I should be able to make the edit myself, and to ask here if I am still having edit trouble.
I have done similar edits to the Message-ID page before. In earlier cases where I was blocked by the filter, I was able to just bypass the filter myself. Since then the edit filter seems to have gotten stricter and I was not able to bypass it. In the most recent case before this one, I was not able to bypass it but the edit filter appeal process worked.
Ideally, the URLs inside the pre tag in the Message-ID lookup services section of the page would be exempt from the email address filter, so anyone could add new lookup services without being affected by the filter.
Alternatively, there could be some way for appeals of the email address filter blocking edits of the Message-ID page to be dealt with by subject matter experts.

But how do you do it in a {reflist}?
For example on the LaDonna Brave Bull Allard page, I'd like to redlink the author's name in the first footnote, but when I try it breaks the citation format. I tried doing each name separately and then both names together but it doesn't work.
Maybe it's not possible?

WP:NEVENT says Routine kinds of news events (including most crimes, accidents, deaths, celebrity or political news, "shock" news, stories lacking lasting value such as "water cooler stories," and viral phenomena) – whether or not tragic or widely reported at the time – are usually not notable unless something further gives them additional enduring significance. In evaluating an event, editors should evaluate various aspects of the event and the coverage: the impact, depth, duration, geographical scope, diversity and reliability of the coverage, as well whether the coverage is routine.
This tragic event got heavy news coverage in the days that followed, as is routine. But what is the enduring significance of the crime? What was the duration of the coverage?

Another newbie I'm afraid: I'm trying to write an article on open flightmaps (full disclosure: I'm a contributor there) and since it's my first one, I wasn't really expecting it to be accepted. I peeked a little on the article about OpenStreetMap which is similar in mission, but of course way bigger and more mature. (Comparable parts of the OSM article, however, don't contain many more primary nor secondary references.) The data and flightmaps are used both in real life (e.g. gliders or the helicopter rescue operators of CH, DE, AT and soon NL) as well as flight and ATC simulation enthusiasts. In other words: There is public relevance, but it's difficult to find secondary sources since it doesn't really hit the news. There might be references in blogs or video tutorials, but I'm not sure if those would be reliable enough. And there will be a better, more informative project homepage, but this takes time, contributing pilots have other things to do when the sun is shining. :-) Thanks a bunch for any hints! Hello, can you provide any advice how to revise this Draft:KURU Footwear and resubmit so it can get approved. It has enough sources for notability and it seems the content may be an issue. It was declined before because the page was about the company. I was advice to change it to a Product page instead. The last declining editor said the page sounded promotional, so I removed all promotional language and he still declined. I believe he felt there is still something sounding promotional, so tell me how to revise it please so it can get accepted. Downinit9 ( talk) 02:06, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
The ATOM shoe model ...can feel unformal at times and could draw too much attention to the word (which yes, it's the focus of the sentence but it's not the something that is extremely important like say, the subject itself and should be emphasized, and even if it is it's best to use bold text instead). in general, all-caps should be avoided when it's not grammatically necessary.

Most KURU footwear are designed to improve foot health conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, and heel spurs.is a medical claim, and we have exceptionally stringent sourcing standards for medical claims. Please see WP:MEDRS. Cullen328 ( talk) 15:25, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
Three points. First, a couple of people above seem to suggest that being an admin means that the user's pronouncement here should be taken more seriously. It should not. Instead, take any pronouncement on its merits. ¶ Secondly, on meanings. I think that one can say that the Attempts to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election were designed to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election. The attempts failed to overturn it. Being designed to effect X doesn't entail effecting X. Thus I disagree with Cullen328's judgment above that "designed to improve foot health conditions" is a medical claim. So much for semantics. As for pragmatics, an advertising standards authority might well disallow "designed to improve foot health conditions" for giving a not-so-attentive reader the impression that the product does "improve foot health conditions". This issue is, I think, outside the scope of WP:MEDRS; but I wouldn't be surprised if some other guideline here rules against easily-misinterpreted health-related assertions such as this. And even if there is no such guideline, I'd agree that articles should avoid such talk. Still, such talk isn't necessarily a matter of advertising. ¶ Thirdly, though we're urged to avoid whataboutery, pray indulge me for a moment. I quickly thought up a short list of shoe (rather than sneaker) brands, and came up with Bally (" Bally (fashion house)"), Birkenstock, Clarks (" C. & J. Clark"), Hush Puppies, Mephisto (no article), Dr. Scholl's, and Veldskoen. At a glance, the Clarks article is pretty good. The other articles are bad: lack of substance, lack of references, credulous use of junk references, celeb name-dropping, peacockisms, etc. "Other crap exists" is a keep/accept argument that's easy to dismiss; "other crap is near-universal" is a lot more problematic. A few minutes ago I nibbled away at one conspicuous example of awfulness in the Birkenstock article; but shoes hold little interest for me and the notion of devoting hours to clearing up shoe articles fails to thrill me. Downinit9, would you care to improve one or two of the existing articles on shoes? -- Hoary ( talk) 01:04, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

Hi helpful friends! I've been lazily but lovingly working on an article about Druware, a brand of cookware that was wildly popular (at least in New England) in the middle of the 20th century. I'm still working on dredging up additional sources to meet the bar of notability, but I'm wondering how to manage one aspect. There's a very active world of collecting midcentury enameled cookware, and Druware specifically. Unfortunately, Le_Creuset, Cousances, and Descoware get all the glory in Wikipedia, despite a paucity of high-quality references in their articles. (Not sure how those snuck into article space, but I'll try to suppress my jealousy for now.)
There are zillions of Pinterest boards, and hundreds of pieces of this cookware for sale at high prices at any given time on auction sites such as eBay. I'd think that this modern, observable activity could help support notability (some day, someone will look back on those auction pages and use them as sources to prove the popularity of the collection trade today)...but I'm not sure quite how to manage referencing the observable popularity that currently exists. Citing eBay search URLs doesn't seem particularly strong as evidence, due to their ephemeral nature. Is this activity at all relevant now, or shall we have to wait for the patina of history to give it gravitas? Thanks for any advice you might have. Kerri9494 ( talk) 14:17, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

A minor inconsistency on /info/en/?search=Mehmet_Oz It regards the length of time that Dr. Oz served in the Turkish Army. In the wikipage introduction, it states six weeks to maintain his Turkish citizenship. But later on in the article, it states two years: "Oz served in the Turkish Army during the 1980s for six weeks of mandatory training specifically for citizens who reside in foreign countries, to maintain his Turkish citizenship."
"spent two years in the Turkish army after college to maintain his dual citizenship."
Did he serve twice or is this just a typo, and, if so, can you pass this on to the editor? I attempted to send this information to the page editors but am not sure that I succeeded. Thanks, Ron Hines Ronaldhines ( talk) 16:46, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

Hi there. I am an academic, and someone other than myself produced a biographical article on me. The article has recently been flagged with the following note: "The topic of this article may not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline for academics. Please help to demonstrate the notability of the topic by citing reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic and provide significant coverage of it beyond a mere trivial mention. If notability cannot be shown, the article is likely to be merged, redirected, or deleted." I read through the notability guidelines, which lists being editor of a established academic journal in my subject area as one of eight sufficient conditions for establishing notability. I am Editor-in-Chief of such an established journal in my field of research. (It has been published since 1971, and has an international readership.) My question is: can anyone guide me in how I should notify the relevant Wikipedia Editors that (so far as I can tell) I meet the notability guidelines? With thanks! 24.60.151.5 ( talk) 19:13, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
Many scientists, researchers, philosophers, and other scholars (collectively referred to as "academics" for convenience) are notably influential in the world of ideas without their biographies being the subject of secondary sources.and it also says
Academics meeting any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, are notable, and one of those criteria is

I'm new and I'm a linguist and careful speller - in UK and US English (I see various articles use one or the other - a mix). However, the modest contribution I can offer is - for the time being - limited to pointing to spelling errors, or at least spellings that strike me as erroneous. For instance, on the page The Birth of a Nation, there is an illustration of a battle scene from the film in question, describing the action as "leaded" by a certain historical character. This struck me as odd, as "leaded" is a description of a process for enhancing fuel combustibility and not used in relation to the verb "to lead" (i.e. take a lead, form the leadership of), whose past participle is generally taken to be "led". Is there is simple path to correcting such errors, since the learning curve that appears to be needed to make even that small contribution strikes me as "steeped", if you'll pardon the irony? Before I start however, I was wondering - if I copied the exact text from a different website to add to an article (and obviously gave citations for it), would that put me in trouble regarding copyright? Or do I have to slightly modify the original text before adding it in and publishing? Any help would be appreciated, thanks! Wikipedian10282 ( talk) 19:15, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
Good day,
I hope you’re well? An article I created Draft:Neo Rapetsoa was recently moved to draft space. The editors reasons were that 1. There is a conflict of interest and 2. The subject is not notable?
The article has been reviewed before and the editor(s) said that the sources were good enough and that the article was well written.
Could someone pls help me navigate what to do to get the article published?
Thank you

Hi editors,
I'm Ben and I work for Grayscale Investments.

As a long time donor to wikipedia, I am concerned about the strong inconsistency between the following two pages. Please review them as they are totally contradictory on many points about the influence if any of CO2 upon long term Climate. Geologic temperature record. and Climate change.
I'm looking at
this search query for the phrase {{subst:submit}}
in the draftspace an I'm noticing that around 60 articles exist that failed to properly transclude the substitution that would submit their draft. I'd like to fix this by substituting the templates manually myself, but
this causes me to get talk page messages whenever those submissions are declined or commented on. Does anyone here know a way to transclude the proper template for AfC review into the page in a way that lets me specify who the submitter is? —

I sought out a third opinion, and SMcCandlish generously provided one. But he was reluctant to implement the consensus himself, because ( as he explained here) he considers himself an "involved editor" now.
So the question is, if I'm involved and SMcCandlish is now involved as well after having provided a third opinion, then who should implement the consensus? And beyond shedding light on this question generally, maybe someone from the Teahouse can lend a practical hand here, especially considering that this is a BLP.

I have had this experience ever since I first used the Italian interface. I have tried to verify that I don't have some option chosen that causes this. However, I haven't found the option. I understand that redlinking a name is good practice to indicate someone should potentially get their own Wikipedia page.

MelatoninEmbryo ( talk) 16:20, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
MelatoninEmbryo. An angry man bought a rifle, killed two strangers and then killed himself. Tens of thousands of Americans are murdered each year.

It was declined before because the page was about the company. I was advice to change it to a Product page instead. The last declining editor said the page sounded promotional, so I removed all promotional language and he still declined.

Hello, I could swear there was a policy/guidance about writing excessively about something insignificant within an article, but I can’t remember the name. What is the name for this? Asperthrow ( talk) 10:53, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
A friend of mine went to the "Westcoast Black Theater," which is mentioned in Sarasota, Florida but is without a Wikipedia entry. I would like to get develop an article for submission so I started to write down some thoughts here; User:Flibbertigibbets/sandbox#Westcoast Black Theater Troupe I was hoping to be pointed in the right direction, get some input about the draft, and get the entry started. I am trying to "hit" quite a bit above my weight class so any help or suggestions (or even constructive criticism) would be much appreciated. Flibbertigibbets ( talk) 02:49, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

For redirects, it says redirect to page#heading but for links in pages, it doesn't show. is it possible to show? because on List of north–south roads in Toronto - Wikipedia, there a numerous page that i created a redirect for just a bit ago. I found numerous pages that rather than linking to the redirect(Because i just made them), linked to say List of north–south roads in Toronto#main street rather than main street (toronto), which i just made. In the event main street (toronto) becomes a standalone page, some pages would just go to the undetailed version on the list. i want to find them and change them before this could ever happen. Hi! I'm quite new to editing and have done well so far, and I am planning to write some additional information on a specific wikipedia article.
Thank you
