Actually, it means that I'm the project's most glorified paper-pusher; but we'll just ignore that point. ;-)

I have no problems with moving it to the official name of the unit; you may want to insert a footnote into the article after the name to indicate that it is, in fact, the correct order, so that future editors don't feel compelled to fix it. Personally, I think we should expand out the abbreviation ( 3rd United States Infantry Regiment), but I'll leave that up to your discretion. In the long term, I think we're going to have to try and come up with some actually usable guideline for how to name these articles, reconciling the use of official names with a sensible placement of "United States" when it's inserted for disambiguation purposes; but that's a rather broader issue. Well, hopefully this title will prevail... it is Wikipedia, so it's not set in stone. I just wish that people could understand how important this stuff is to those of us who served, you know? Some people get so caught up in standards and formats that they don't want to look at things on a case-by-case basis. And then, these same people don't even bother to read explanations as to why things are this way, no matter how detailed those explanations may be. I have a question about this article and I was wondering if you had the answer. I've been going through and correcting the redirects/dabs for the 3d US Infantry to reflect the correct name and new correct article title. I came across this article and I'm afraid I don't know enough about that time period to make an accurate decision about the name inside the unit box. I'm assuming that 3d Infantry Regiment is the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (if not, then we have to find which regiment they're talking about and redirect it there) since it was in existence back then of course, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate to change the name to reflect the U.S. portion of the name. When did the 3d add the U.S. to its name? Was it during the Civil War or was it there from the beginning? If it didn't change until later, I'm tempted to leave the name in that article as is to reflect the name of the unit at that time. So far as I know, The Old Guard was still the 1st Regiment in 1794... which is to say that it wasn't the 3rd US Infantry yet... or even the 3rd Infantry. I know that the battle was fought in what is now part of Ohio, and that it seems likely that it was a militia regiment from somewhere near or garrisoned in the Northwest Territories would have supplied this particular occurrence of '3rd Regt.'. Recently this article received a "peer review script" examination and mention was made of GA and FA status ( Talk: Ohio State Buckeyes football). I invite you to help complete the article and with a little luck and hard work maybe someone will take notice and nominate it for FA (I am not into self-nom for reasons your own "statement of purpose" makes clear). Even if that doesn't happen, the quality of the article itself will improve and make it a showcase for Buckeye football. The history from 1975 to the present is lacking, and in particular we need enthusiastic but encyclopedic writers for the Cooper and Tressl eras. Ultimately I think the History of Ohio State Football will become a main article in its own right. My goal is to get the article "completed" (but far from "finished") by January 8. I understand what Stemonitis is getting at with regards to his questioning what should be disambiguated. However, I whole heartedly dispute his claim that the game Angband is more relevant in current usage than the place named in Tolkien's work. Although no one else from the game article camp seems to be weighing in on the debate, it would seem that a poll may be needed to reach an agreement. Yes, I realize that in the scope of things, that this is completely a matter of minutiae, but to those of us who have spent the majority of their life (which is, in my case, about 28 of 35 years) reading, researching and studying Tolkien's work as well as the analysis and criticism thereof, I find the issue quite irritating and borderline offensive. The game in question isn't even a game licensed for sale from what I can tell. It's a low-fi game done by someone with a basic knowledge of how to code, on par with what someone might create for a 100-level college computer programming class final project. I'd be surprised to find that any permission was even asked for (or granted) by Tolkien's estate to use the name Angband for the game. And there is a debate on its importance/relevance on Wikipedia? In case I wasn't clear, I do agree that Angband should be what's currently at Angband (Middle-earth). Honestly I wouldn't mind the status quo either (using a dab page with both listed). The point of contention is "What are people more likely to be looking for?", and there is no easy answer to that in this case.

UPDATE: I have put the shortest form of my position regarding the first point of mediation (the official name of the unit in question) at the end of my talk page, including related citations of Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Style guide#Military units and formations. It's fairly short, it adheres to current MILHIST style, and it does not require changes to that style for agreement. I just added a bit on that to the discussion page on the Cleveland article. Ethnic Jewry has mixed contexts, and is debatable accordingly. In any case, the Jewish community in the Cleveland area is overwhelmingly located in the suburbs, not in the city (the article mentions 'substantial' ethnic populations. Thanks for supporting my argument. The irony is, when there was one, the Jewish community in Cleveland (particularly in Glenville) was quite distinguished. Another sign of the times, however: even the Jews in Cleveland Heights particularly along S.Taylor Road, has started to move further out -- Lax & Mandel's, a cornerstone of local Jewish bakeries for years (and of national fame to boot), has relocated a few miles to the northeast, to South Euclid just in the past year. I don't think User:LooDog will care much though -- he's not even a Clevelander from what I can see from his user page.

FYI, you're seeing addresses on the Heights pop up as being in Cleveland due to an old ZIP Code format that included some of the border suburbs as being part of the city for some reason -- South Euclid, where I grew up, is 44121, which shares a splinter of a border with the city and also comes up as Cleveland. I noticed the Project Cleveland now has been broadened to Greater Cleveland. Have we definied the limits? I'm thinking of some of the articles I edit that are Kent-related. Kent is in one of the broader definitions of Greater Cleveland, but it being from here, we usually differentiate between here and the "Cleveland area" even though downtown Cleveland is all of 45 minutes from Kent. I don't have a problem with it, so I'll add them. In the broad sense of the Cleveland area, Kent falls into the Cleveland CSA and Media Market. The only people that differentiate between Akron and Cleveland areas are locals. Have you been back to Cleveland lately? The improvements in areas like Gordon Square, Tremont, and University Circle are impressive - although they retain their gritty character. South Euclid has definitely seen better days, but that's really a product of location and demographics. The entire area is having difficulty. I live quite close to Dairy King and have even walked there - although I now have to avoid Francis Court after my dog was attacked by two rotweillers. The S. E. McDonald's was rebuilt because of a requirement made by the company on the franchisee. Efforts are being made to improve the area. There's an ambitious plan to spruce up the Cedar-Lee area in Cleveland Heights. Cedar Center North was torn down and is now being rebuilt (CC South was replaced a few years ago and there's a nice Whole Foods Market there). Deteriorated housing is being torn down and replaced with community gardens - an eyesore a few lots down from me was torn down this past spring. But it remains to be seen whether these efforts will amount to much. I believe a lot of this will depend on the long term price of gasoline, which may encourage people to migrate back closer to the city. There is also a lot of talk of consolidation under the new Cuyahoga County plan. For example, Pepper Pike, Orange, Woodmere and Moreland Hills are considering consolidating into one city. The same has been discussed for South Euclid as outlined here: [5] As for myself, I like South Euclid, and I will probably stay here as long as I remain in Ohio. Armour Square, Chicago The Community area are not to be confused with the neighborhoods and should not be combined as the same feature. community areas [7] collect census data like population and demographics and neighborhoods [8] that area about colture. hmm... what an attack? Is that really needed? Is Wikipedia about personal opinions or facts? I think facts. and the fact is... Community areas were created to have defined areas to chart census data of population and demographics and the articles should reflect that. The neighborhoods themselves should have their own articles as they reflect on the culture of the area and are defined by different boundaries. Armour Square is defined by the city as a community area, and people who live there can clearly say they are from Armour Square, yes. As well as people say they are from the Bridgeport community area. That is fine. But the neighborhood boundaries defined by the City of Chicago are different than the community areas. The file description page bore two different deletion templates: the F5 about which Hazard-Bot warned you, and {{ db-f1}}, because it was a duplicate of File:RussianRiverBC.jpg. The article was already a Good Article, and per WP:LEAD, the lead section should be expected to fairly summarize the contents of the entire article. The bare bones so-called "NFL standard" lead is inadequate for GA purposes. That having been said, it was not a perfect lead and could be pared and better organized. If you and Tony will give me 24 hours, I'll take a crack at paring it and improving it, while leaving something behind that still satisfies the GA standards. Thanks. Hey, I read your note and the revision you wrote in the sandbox, but I gotta be honest: this doesn't match up with any of the cited history that I've read on the article, and I've been consuming the stuff on hot dogs for over 40 years, and it just started appearing in Chicago area stores (sparsely) in the past decade, with the same home address on the bottle (an Ohio address)as the ones thaey sell in supermarkets in Cleveland. I was not inserting my personal opinion, the words I added were a direct quote from the article by Biskind which was cited. Before my edit, the wikipedia page just said that there was a heated debate, which seemed rather uninformative - when I read that, I wanted to know what the nature of the debate was. So I looked up the article, and inserted its wording "—was it meant ironically or not, as a critique of patriotism or a paean to it?". I'd like to reinsert the explanatory quote, please let me know if you think there is a specific problem with that, or if you think it should be done in a different way. The main characters of the Deer Hunter are Ukrainian, not Russian. Steven's wedding takes place in a Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with a Ukrainian Orthodox priest, and traditional Ukrainian Orthodox hymns, sung in Ukrainian. The reception takes place in a Ukrainian American Citizens club with a banner stating this clearly on the wall behind the stage on the first floor. In reality this took place in the Lemko Club in Cleveland, so the Director/Set Designers took special precautions to ensure that they were Ukrainian. When the party is dancing, they dance traditional Ukrainian Dances such as the Kolomeika and Hopak. Whenever they drink in the movie, they exclaim "Nazdarovya!", the Ukrainian way of saying "Cheers!". When Steven is pulled out of the bar, the woman (presumably his mother) calls him a "Drurak!" which means fool or idiot in Ukrainian. Ukrainians have been fighting to stop their seemingly never ending confusion with Russians for centuries, and this article is one of thousands of examples of this happening. Cool! When I get photos of neighborhoods I like to get the civil institutions: The libraries, post offices, schools, community centers, etc. as well as famous landmarks and sights. For example: River Oaks, Houston, Meyerland, Houston, and West University Place, Texas (a municipality that functions as a de facto Houston neighborhood). Thanks for providing the source. It's a good thing Wikipedia has strict rules about biographies of living persons and specifically about religious identification (see WP:BLPCAT and particularly read the criteria for inclusion in a category). That's why William J. Murray, who became famous for being an atheist, cannot now be identified as an atheist on Wikipedia. Take a good look at Category:American Roman Catholics, or any religious category for that matter. At any given time about 10-30% of people in the category are not sourced as currently identifying as RC. It was close to 50% before a few editors started pruning it. Yes. Absolutely yes. If we can leave off information from the intro because it's in the infobox, why bother providing the county or the state? Why bother mentioning the population? The intro is supposed to be a summary of the rest of the article; in an article about a physical location, what could be a more basic detail than the country in which it's located? Occasional articles use a different format, as you note, but "X County, State, United States" is the format that's almost always used, and there's normally no good reason to deviate from it. A major reason for my commenting at Talk:Cleveland was to see if I could get a response from someone in the Cleveland area, so thank you :-) I see that Commons:Special:Contributions/Ryecatcher773 is almost empty, but if you have a camera and some time to drive, could you try to help with a project of mine? For the last three years, I've been working on illustrating all municipalities and townships in Ohio, and it's now 98% done (just 42 places remain out of 2,352 places), but as I don't live in Ohio anymore, it's rather hard to work on it now. My project page is User:Nyttend/Ohio; from there you can see that all of the counties with any un-illustrated locations either border Cuyahoga County or border the bordering counties.
