Hello! As an uninvolved editor, I was a bit surprised by the draftification of Pope, Tennessee: I thought WP:POPULATED meant that such stubs pass notability so long as there is reasonable evidence of legal recognition and population. The source in the draft is from the United States Department of the Interior, suggesting legal recognition, and a quick search on Google Maps shows a handful of houses and a volunteer fire department.
I'm a new-ish editor and notice from your userpage that you have many, many years of experience on Wikipedia, so I'd be grateful to hear the opposing argument, as I come across quite a few of these settlement stubs and it's sometimes frustrating trying to find the sources to justify them! Thanks so much in advance. IgnatiusofLondon ( talk) 18:08, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
Those shouldn't be redlinks indefinitely; they're obviously notable as articles. Neither converting them to drafts nor converting them to redirects is at all appropriate; we need to leave them as redlinks until someone writes articles. Nyttend ( talk) 23:12, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
