Massege from Wiki-Ikiw

Hello, there.

Just in case you did not see my last week message on my talk page, here it is for you to read it again: "Though just to reminder, despite I gave some edits on articles about stuff like Chainsaw Massacre, Game of Thrones, etc., I just wanna know that I'm not really fan of those entertainment that contains themes and contents that are adult/mature-oriented, both pornographic and non-pornographic alike, (e.g. Angry Video Game Nerd, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Walking Dead, Mad Man, Game of Thrones, The Interview, Scrubs, South Park, Jurassic Park, pornographic entertainment, etc.), because despite some are censored or not sure, all of them are are intended to be the same concept and taste, with add of strong languages, people who are acting out highly cruel, and even crude and immature, offensive contents, heavy exclamations (screaming and yelling), sexual scenes, graphic violence and gore, racism, etc."

Plus, I recently read your post on my talk page, saying that the reason why the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is inappropriate for kids is due the fact is about a killer and because it's rated R, and I know that. But I really don't like how people can state about those movies with the R-rated tones like Chainsaw is marketing towards wider audience, because to me, it dose not make any sense under of its tone at all. Because if it's for wider audience, then it should not be rated R, it should not have any inappropriate and violent-themes, it should not be titled Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it should not be about a serial killer, and it should not be a bloody horror film period.

I hope you understand.

Hello. I'm sorry for failing to notice your response. For starters, I have noticed that the maturity level of art and media is something that you have a particular focus on, and I've also noticed that editors very often disagree with your changes. So, the first thing I'm going to say is that, in the future, you should ask on the talk page beforehand. Wikipedia does not necessarily state a movie's intended audience, because that isn't what's important about the content of the movie. Wikipedia strives to describe art and media (just like anything else) based off of reliable sources and facts that are not subjective. Also, I need to point out that, just because you don't like a certain type of art or media, doesn't mean you get to edit Wikipedia in this way.
The reason why maturity levels and target audiences aren't mentioned on Wikipedia is because the idea of what's "for kids" or what's "for adults" is entirely defined by your own culture and opinions, not by fact, and Wikipedia strives to remain completely neutral. There are just too many ways to interpret this. There is no fine line between adult and children's content. You are right when you say that murder, graphic sex, drugs, and curse words are not for children, but there are gray areas for some people when it comes to other topics (like same-sex couples), and also because a lot of children's media is widely enjoyed (and sometimes partially targeted towards) adults who might also enjoy it.
Also, just because Wikipedia doesn't specify that something is for adults, doesn't mean Wikipedia is recommending the movie for a wide audience. I don't understand how this is a moral problem. The word "mature" or "adult" doesn't need to be specified; The word "horror" already tells you that the movie isn't for children.
Finally, and I just want to state this again, I think the editors for these pages (including myself) would appreciate it if you would discuss this on the article's talk pages. Maybe they can help you too. Bruzer Fox 05:14, 23 August 2017 (UTC) reply

...for moving the map for the Green Line Extension to the infobox, which I would've done if it wasn't late and my brain had been operating ever so slightly faster than it had been. Anyways, significantly better placement than where it was originally . Sportsguy17 ( TC) 14:16, 26 September 2017 (UTC) reply

No problem! At first, I was trying to figure out why it wouldn't show in a smaller box like it's supposed to. I know other transit articles have sidebar transit maps that aren't in the infoboxes. Couldn't figure that out so I decided to just put it in the infobox. Bruzer Fox 23:22, 26 September 2017 (UTC) reply

Hello BruzerFox,

I notice you reverted me twice when I tagged the aforementioned category, as well as at least one other category, as eligible for speedy deletion for being empty. The note you left said sock categories are exempt from the WP:CSD#C1 criterion. Can you point to me what part of that rule exempts these categories? The rule states:

This criterion applies to categories that have been unpopulated for at least seven days. This does not apply to disambiguation categories, category redirects, featured topics categories, categories under discussion at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion (or other such discussions), or project categories that by their nature may become empty on occasion (e.g. Category:Wikipedians looking for help). Place {{ Possibly empty category}} at the top of the page to prevent such categories from being deleted.

I do not see anything there that would support an exemption for this type of category. The closest thing that could be interpreted to include this is the sentence of "project categories that by their nature may become empty on occasion" - I would strenuously object to a classification of this category as one that "by its nature" may become empty on occasion. The example given is for a category that is intended to become empty - The goal for "Wikipedians looking for help" is for there to be zero pages in the category. That is clearly different from this category where there is no goal to lower the number of pages in the category. I would strongly suggest you are misinterpreting the C1 speedy deletion criterion by classifying this type of category as exempt, and I have had numerous other sock categories that I've tagged as C1 deleted by other administrators, so at best there is a large disconnect for what is exempt or not. And, before you mention it, yes, my IP changes often for no apparent reason, and no, I'm not interested in creating an account. I'll look for your response here. 2600:100F:B12E:65E4:24A9:14F4:5C81:9404 ( talk) 21:25, 1 November 2017 (UTC) reply

Hello there. I must have been mistaken, but it doesn't seem necessary to speedily-delete sock categories just because they are unpopulated. SPI cases frequently get reopened since sockmasters tend to be very habitual about it, falling under "other project categories that that by their nature may become empty on occasion", since sock users are removed from these categories once they're confirmed by CheckUser or others. Just out of curiosity; When you nominate sock categories in this way, which I assume you've done before, will administrators normally approve the deletion? Bruzer Fox 22:28, 1 November 2017 (UTC) reply
It's also my expectation that your proposed deletions of the empty year-based categories will be struck down by admins as well. These categories are usually created regardless of any possible appropriate articles, sometimes automatically, which makes it easier for users to automatically add categories to newer articles using HotCat. Rather than propose to delete them, the more helpful course of action is to find pages to populate them. Adding droves of speedy deletion tags needlessly worsens Wikipedia's often-massive backlog, making it even less likely that anyone will actually get around to deleting these pages at any time. By the time anyone gets far enough into the backlog to see these, chances are, they will have articles in them. Bruzer Fox 00:23, 2 November 2017 (UTC) reply
Administrators regularly both delete the sock categories as well as the empty year categories that I tag. It is my understanding that the reason the C1 criterion exists in the first place is because it is frustrating for an average user to be navigating through categories only to find a completely useless empty one. These type of categories clutter up reports such as Wikipedia:Database_reports/Empty_categories which should strive to contain zero pages - everything there needs to be either tagged with {{ empty category}} as exempt (which will remove it from the report) or deleted. 2600:100F:B12E:65E4:14CE:FEB2:F8B0:AD57 ( talk) 21:39, 2 November 2017 (UTC) reply
I couldn't find any specific proof of what you're saying as far as typical admin behavior. It's not that I don't trust you, I'd just like to see somewhere that this is clearly stated, because Wikipedia tends not to leave things ambiguous. In any case, it's up to administrators whether or not these speedy deletions are approved, and if they're declined, you'll know for sure. Bruzer Fox 04:02, 3 November 2017 (UTC) reply

Why delete all the future spin-offs but leave NOW Disney 2017? Either delete NOW Disney 2017 or add the other future releases back to the list

Hi, Hadji87. Please remember to sign your talk page comments by adding four tildes at the end, like this: ~~~~
No unsourced future releases should go in the Now list, as that is a violation of Wikipedia policies. Maybe you're new to the site, but all information should preferably be sourced! Thanks for bringing the unsourced material to my attention. I will remove it. If you have any questions, I'd be glad to help you. Bruzer Fox 00:00, 2 November 2017 (UTC) reply

Rollback granted

Hi BruzerFox. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Callanecc ( talkcontribslogs) 10:48, 6 November 2017 (UTC) reply

Good Article Status of Lake Compounce

BruzerFox,

Thank you for the amazing work you have been doing on Lake Compounce. I noticed that your "To-Do-List" has listed that you wanted to get Lake Compounce to GA status.

I am sending this to tell you that I am right here with you to the end. I promise we will achieve the goal. AmericanAir88 ( talk) 21:51, 7 November 2017 (UTC) reply

@ AmericanAir88: Glad to hear it! There's still more work that needs to be done before nomination, though. Keep in mind that if an article is far enough from Good Article standards, a review won't even be granted, from what I understand. It's important to carefully consider the changes you make. Perhaps we could discuss ideas, whenever you think of any! Bruzer Fox 23:30, 7 November 2017 (UTC) reply
@ BruzerFox: Of course. We still have a lot to go. I was thinking to find and add images to whatever we can of the rides. We also need expansion beyond "History". Your work on removing the unnecessary sections were fantastic! AmericanAir88 ( talk) 02:50, 8 November 2017 (UTC) reply

Edit thanks on List of Nintendo DS games.

Thanks so much for your , especially the ones with the GameFAQs citations as they comply with the reliability standards as sources. Do you know how to block them? I would most certainly appreciate it if you could block anonymous IPs for doing those sort of things. Thanks again for the help! Have a great night! @ Zacharyalejandro: Hey there, it's no problem. I've gone through this user's contributions and it seems to be a very big problem with this user. You could always bring this up with admins on the administrator's noticeboard. Just make sure you're ready with multiple diffs showing changes on multiple articles, and be prepared to explain what it is they tend to do. If you decide to take it to the noticeboard, let me know so I can get involved in the discussion as well. I can also help you figure out what to say to them if you want. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, Google Earth), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Classic Sonic dimension/past confusion

Hi BruzerFox! I debated with myself if this even worth talking about, but I do think there is a distinction in the the case of Classic Sonic being from another dimension. I do think this is relevant, and not me being a perfectionist. Sonic Generations had Classic Sonic from the past, and Forces as an alternate dimension. I would be willing to re-word the entire page to reflect him being from another dimension. Writing all this makes me feel like a giant nerd, but unless there is clear distinction between the past and this alternate dimension (as Sonic Forces itself is unclear about it) I think it would be more accurate to go with how the game itself calls it, that being "alternate dimension". Thank you! Thetetrisguy ( talk) 01:35, 27 January 2018 (UTC) reply

@ Thetetrisguy: The problem isn't accuracy; In order to include this distinction, you would have to do more explaining in the summary, which would expand the summary, which we should be avoiding. I appreciate that you want to work on this article from a perspective of accuracy and detail, which is something I think we both have in common, so I'm gonna recommend you bring this up on the Sonic Forces talk page to see what the article's other editors think, before you make any changes. If more people agree with you than disagree, then it's a good idea and I probably midjudged. Also, since you're new (or at least your account is new), I'm just gonna throw out there: Welcome to Wikipedia, and I'd be happy to help you learn more about the site if you ever have questions! 2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
