Optogenetics: actuators vs sensors

Hi Cffisac, I liked your suggestion to split up 'Optogenetics' into actuators and sensors. I started by making a 'optogenetic indicators to record cellular activity' page as you suggested, but the main Optogenetics article is still a complete disaster IMHO. I don't have the nerve for a complete rewrite. Wikipedia should be ready when the Nobel prize comes around, though :-) Millencolin ( talk) 21:35, 26 October 2021 (UTC) reply

Hi @ Millencolin, thank you so much for your message and for starting the Optogenetic methods to record cellular activity article!! I'm really excited about making these concepts easier to understand, and I really appreciate someone else getting involved too! I agree that the Optogenetics article is in dire need of help and that a complete rewrite would be no easy task, but since it's a relatively popular method in neuroscience I'm wondering if we can leverage that to pull in more Wikipedians willing to help! A good start, I think, will be to post in Wikipedia:WikiProject Neuroscience to recruit participants interested in helping restructure the article, which would already help a ton since we'd share the workload between more of us. I honestly think that an initial high-level discussion on ways to reorganise the information would already lead to substantial improvements in the readability of the article. Once that is done, we can tackle individual sections one at a time so that it doesn't feel too overwhelming, and we can collaborate on specific (sub)sections that may need some extra love. I'm behind you 100%: let's get that optogenetics article Nobel-ready! :) Cffisac ( talk) 05:50, 27 October 2021 (UTC) reply

Welcome

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for your comment at the CfD discussion. I'm always happy to see a new editor who is a neuroscientist (as a long-time editor who is also a neuroscientist myself). Please feel free to drop by my user talk page anytime if you have any questions at all about editing here. -- Tryptofish ( talk) 20:48, 27 October 2021 (UTC) reply

Greetings,

You seem to have interests in psychology hence:

Requesting you to visit article Draft:Irrational beliefs and help expand the same if you find interested in.

If you tend to be busy then there is no hurry you can take your time, since you have interest in psychology topics I do have hope you might research, find and contribute to Draft:Irrational beliefs.

Thanks and warm regards
