Thanks... it was looking pretty messy. I'm hoping that if enough good work gets put into it we might be able to make it a featured article before long - anything I can do to raise the profile of one of TV's most under-rated shows. Still a long way away from that yet, though. - dharmabum ( talk) 21:42, 2 February 2006 (UTC) reply

Goldsmith's

Nice work on the Goldsmith's page. Now if I could just keep others from trying to delete what I added all the time. There's a big debate over deletion of my entry on Riverbend Mall. I'd love to see a history of D.H. Holmes in New Orleans. Glad you enjoyed the Rich's page that I greatly expanded. I would have loved to have photographed Goldsmith's like I did with Rich's, but Rich's was quite difficult at that. You see some of what I have there on Wiki, which was originally intended for my currently defunct Rich's tribute website.

Minor edits?

Hi, I saw your recent changes to the Riverchase Galleria page. I appreciate your help in improving the article. I also see that this, and most of your other contributions, are marked as minor ones. Keep in mind that "minor" implies trivial changes only, such as typo corrections, formatting and presentational changes and rearranging of text without changing any content. If that's what you've been doing, then great! Please ignore my comment. If you've been making non-minor edits, then I recommend you review Help:Minor edit to determine when minor edits should and shouldn't be used. If you didn't realize that your edits were all being tagged as minor, you can change your settings (using the edit tab under "my preferences") to uncheck "Mark all edits minor by default". Thank you for your contributions to wikipedia! ClarkBHM 15:38, 10 April 2006 (UTC) reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Conway ar city seal.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Conway ar city seal.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ANTM Promo Images

Hi there! Just wanted to let you know that there's a big discussion going on about the ANTM images (including the initial promo shot, the individual photo shoots, images of the judges, etc.). So I've been keeping an eye on each of these pages, and I've seen that you've got them on your sub-pages. Unfortunately, Fair Use images cannot be used in the User: namespace. So I'm going to go ahead and replace them with links to the actual images by putting a ':' at the front of the link. This is especially important while that discussion is taking place. Macy's History Template

That template I believe only accounts for direct conversions. What about stores that indirectly converted such as stores converted to Marshall Fields or Kaufmanns. You can get a good start on indirect conversions by looking on What links here for each store if you want to account for indirect conversions. TonyTheTiger 01:55, 21 December 2006 (UTC) reply

P.S. do you think you should add this template to the Federated page? TonyTheTiger 01:57, 21 December 2006 (UTC) reply

I am in the process of setting up templates for conversions to predecessors to Macy's as well. So far, templates have been set up for Hecht's, Foley's, Filene's, and Robinsons- May. As for why I haven't included the template on the Federated page, I suppose it could go there, but it really seems to fit the Macy's page more directly, as the Federated page accounts for both Macy's and Bloomingdale's. -- ArkansasTraveler 02:12, 21 December 2006 (UTC) reply

Untagged image

An image you uploaded, Image:Lrseal.gif, was tagged with the {{ coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{ seal}}. Image copyright problem with Image:Nikkigriffin.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Nikkigriffin.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Yamla 17:40, 8 January 2007 (UTC) reply

Image:Nikkigriffin.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Nikkigriffin.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Fair use rationale for Image:JakeKane.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:JakeKane.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Just a Little Lovin cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Just a Little Lovin cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. Speedy deletion of Template:Vmarsnav/Season3

A tag has been placed on Template:Vmarsnav/Season3 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Pine Bluff AR city seal.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Pine Bluff AR city seal.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot ( talk) 16:14, 8 March 2008 (UTC) reply

Arkansas gubernatorial succession

Hello ArkT. I think I may have the solution to why Riley & Purcell aren't numbered as Governors of Arkansas. Perhaps in Arkansas, when the Governor dies, resigns or is removed from office? the Lieutenant Governor does not succeed automatically. The Lt Gov must take the gubernatorial oath to become Governor in such a scenerio. When Governors Bumpers & Pryor resigned (to become US Senators), they had mere days left in their respetive gubernatorial terms. Perhaps their respective Lieutenant Governors chose not to take the gubernatorial oath out of respect for the Governors-elect. GoodDay ( talk) 16:46, 19 March 2008 (UTC) reply

Unspecified source for Image:Natchez_Melrose_Estate.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Natchez_Melrose_Estate.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:09, 31 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECU talk 20:09, 31 March 2008 (UTC) reply

  • Monte Ne is an area in the Ozark hills of the White River valley east of Rogers on the edge of Beaver Lake in the U.S. State of Arkansas. From 1901 until the mid-1930s the area was a health resort and ambitious planned community. It was owned and operated by William Hope Harvey, a financial theorist and one time U.S. Presidential nominee. Two of its hotels, "Missouri Row" and "Oklahoma Row", were the largest log buildings in the world. Oklahoma Row's "tower section" is one of the earliest examples of a multi-story cement structure. The tower is the only structure of Monte Ne still standing. Monte Ne introduced the first indoor swimming pool in Arkansas, and was also the site of the only presidential convention ever held in Arkansas. ( more...)

Image copyright problem with Image:UALR logo 2006.png

Thanks for uploading Image:UALR logo 2006.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Proposed deletion of List of Veronica Mars cast members

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of Veronica Mars cast members, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also " What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{ dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

The list is pretty content-light, and really has no foreseeable potential for expansion. Much of the information is going to be integrated into season-specific articles, so this is essentially redundant. Jclemens ( talk) 05:33, 4 November 2008 (UTC) reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:KARZ 42.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:KARZ 42.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

File permission problem with File:Alias-logo.png

Thanks for uploading File:Alias-logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. IngerAlHaosului ( talk) 17:24, 23 December 2009 (UTC) reply

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles ( talk) 04:53, 20 June 2010 (UTC) reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse ( consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot ( talk) 20:59, 15 March 2011 (UTC) reply

The article Isabelle Vaughn has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't reach the general notability guideline, as as trivial television character. Weighty information about the subject is already included in Alias (season 5).

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I know its not a stub class anymore though. I'm sorry I'm not hitting articles in order of importance, but I don't have a ton of time to research right now, so I'm going with stuff I already know a bit. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Christine Teigen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page TMZ ( check to confirm |  fix with Dab solver). Sanford, Mississippi

Hi there,

I came across the page for Sanford, Mississippi and noticed it really needs some cleanup, particularly the history section.

I'm not sure how to "flag" a page needing cleanup. I usually just re-write them myself, but I'm afraid I'd end up deleting most of the history section.

Any help you can give would be great.

Wellington, Arkansas

Hi there. I've been trying to fill in the article on the ghost-town Wellington, Arkansas, and it was actually located in Bolivar County, Mississippi. There's not much to go on, but GNIS puts it in Bolivar County and calls it "Prentiss", "Indian Point Landing", "Indian Town", and "Wellington". GNIS places it here... 33°44′00″N 91°08′20″W / 33.7334426°N 91.1390002°W / 33.7334426; -91.1390002, and if you look on ACME topo maps, you can see that a point just north of there is called "Prentiss Bar".

This source is excellent: [2]

Also, [3] writes: "This was on Indian Point opposite the town of Napoleon, Arkansas, at the foot of the Arkansas River... it was named Wellington."

As well, [4] states that Prentiss is a "tiny town on the banks of the Mississippi across from where the Arkansas River empties into the bigger stream."

Both Wellington/Prentiss and Napoleon, Arkansas were damaged following the construction of the Napoleon Channel in 1863 (see Lake Beulah, Mississippi).

If you can delete the red link and change it to Bolivar County, I'd be happy to write the article. Thanks! Richard Apple ( talk) 21:02, 2 September 2013 (UTC) reply

2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Motlow Tunnel is Missing

I was looking at the tornado outbreak data and was drawn to the Tennessee State Capitol. I saw there was something about the Motlow Tunnel (rather convenient shelter--if it weren't locked!) so I thought I would look into it. There's no page about it, just a re-direct to the state capitol section on monuments. Then reading through it, there's just a passing reference to the tunnel in locating another monument. It sounds like someone has removed the tunnel from existence on Wikipedia, intentionally or not. I am not a high level editor, but I found the WP:TN page and saw that you were the founder. I do remember seeing your name quite a bit, though, ...like everywhere. Anyway, I was thinking that you might know someone who cares about Tennessee monuments and/or arcane knowledge of secret tunnels. Would they be willing to look into it? -- Srwalden ( talk) 13:59, 4 March 2020 (UTC) reply

Ello there, Arkansas Traveller.. I'd rather like for you to give your input on the future of List of Sci Fi Channel (United States) programs since it may invariably suffer the same fate as Other films aired on The SciFi Channel, so please do so if time permits. I feel it a rather pertinant piece of information concerning the Sci Fi Channel, and its demise may compromise the article in its entirety. DrWho42 05:07, 4 July 2006 (UTC) reply

Hi, I'm not trying to cause any offense but i reverted your colour changes, while they are inspired they are really bad sorry. They dont blend well or go well with text and have no cohesion. Please dont be offended. Matthew Fenton ( contribs) 21:33, 24 July 2006 (UTC) reply

Let me know if you have any questions! tiZom (2¢) 18:26, 9 December 2006 (UTC) reply

Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude ( talk) 00:13, 8 April 2009 (UTC) reply
