Hello Wikipedia community. I am an undergraduate student at Rice University who is majoring in Mathematical Economic Analysis and Policy Studies. Also, I am pursuing the Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities minor. I am passionate about social justice issues with a specific interest in education inequality and disparities within the education system.
Current Wikipedia Work
I am currently in the process of beginning my next social justice project. I am proposing that the sections on sex trafficking in the "Human Trafficking" page be condensed and that I create a completely new page titled "Sex Trafficking." I am wanting to make these revisions because I feel sex trafficking is a prominent issue and that there is so much information on the topic that it deserves its own page. Also, a new page ensures that readers can easily access the information and gain a more comprehensive understanding of the topic since the topic won't be confined to being a a subsection of a larger topic.
Past Wikipedia Work
This past fall I revised and added a large amount of content to the “Hunger in the United States” page in order to raise the article’s status and improve the quality of information. The article now provides readers a more comprehensive and holistic perspective on the topic and contains much more data.
