I'm a freelance musician with a background in Computer Science and a strong interest in Free Software/Free Culture. I grew up in Western Mass, received my Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2005) studying trumpet with Eric Berlin, moved to Boston, received my Master of Music degree in trumpet performance at the New England Conservatory of Music (2007) studying with Charles Schlueter. I'm now residing in Jamaica Plain and working to build my career of teaching and performing in greater Boston and throughout New England.

While I am in training to become a professional freelance/orchestral/chamber musician, I am also a technology/computer science/free culture enthusiast. As a creative artist, I see an important field of convergence between my passions in the current debates over copyright laws, software patents, and the public domain as we transition to a digital culture.

Recently, I've become more interested in contributing to Wikipedia and I have taken on a pet project to edit all of the articles on Category:Oratorios by George Frideric Handel. (This is part of having taken a class on the subject by Donald Teeters, director of Boston Cecilia, a group that does period-instrument performances of many of Handel's oratorios).
