I edit pages mostly associated with Mississippi, and in particular I like to edit pages for the National (U.S.) Register of Historic Places. Lately I have added images to Mississippi NRHP properties. Some of these pages include the following:

Created Page

D'Evereux

Isom Place

Knoxville YMCA Building

Lafayette County Courthouse (Mississippi)

Added Content

Oxford, Mississippi

Sand Spring Presbyterian Church

I teach composition in the US college environment, and I have been teaching writing with Wikipedia (off and on) since 2004. Most of my assignments involve first year composition courses, and film projects. My 2016 Writing with Wikipedia class at The University of Mississippi edited these pages:

About Me

I first discovered Wikipedia around 2003 while enrolled in a PhD program in English at the University of Georgia (US). In 2004 I started teaching with Wikipedia in my composition classrooms, in part because I was very interested in an external audience for my students' writing. This led me down the path of a more extensive investigation of the use of Wikipedia for teaching and the effects of electronic rhetoric on the academy's assumptions about teaching writing. This eventually became the book project Lazy Virtues: Teaching Writing in the Age of Wikipedia. I have one additional project investigating the use of wikis in higher education, which is available online via digitalculturebooks Wiki Writing: Collaborative Learning in the College Classroom

I pursue multiple projects on the intersection of higher education and Wikipedia. I am interested in opportunities to sponsor, mentor, and assist in the development of peer-reviewed research exploring the common goals of Wikimedia projects in providing universal collection and access to the sum of human knowledge and the teaching, research, and service missions of higher education. As such, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Wiki Education Foundation [1].

If you are interested these goals, or would like to discuss teaching with Wikipedia generally, please feel free to contact me per the contact information below, or here on my talk page.
