It has been noted, correctly i assume, that it is the old Nicholas County High School which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The article currently describes the new school.

I wonder, could the article be revised to cover both? A section on the old school could include, for a start, the following NRHP infobox:

Followup: Nyttend commented at my talk page "No complaints about having a separate article on the Old NCHS; it's just that there isn't one right now." Actually, maybe it would be best to make such a separate article, assuming Old NCHS is the current common name for the old builidng. Apparently at Old Nicholas County High School there is a redirect to the section in this NCHS article about the old school. So, it remains a question, should that section be developed and have the NRHP infobox added, etc., or should the redirect be revised into a proper article about the old building. If there are two articles, of course they should mention each other / have some appropriate direct note at top, e.g. "For the old NCHS building, see Old Nicholas County High School". doncram ( talk) 21:23, 18 January 2009 (UTC) reply

I did a bit more digging about the old building. It does appear that its most common name is now "Old Main" [1]. (The NRHP paperwork mentions both "Old Main" as the central building and "Old Nicholas County High School" on its drawings.) Our " Old Main" articles tend to be named by institution, rather than by place, even though several are NRHP-listed. Seems to me that a better choice would be Old Main (Nicholas County High School). Nyttend ( talk) 22:45, 18 January 2009 (UTC) reply

I don't know why the Old Main ones get to have an exceptional treatment that way, and i just marked Old Main for some cleanup (by me, really, as i am the main person cleaning up various NRHP dabs), but i agree that it seems to be the pattern so Old Main (Nicholas County High School) would be the best name choice now. Good find on the docs for the place (altho the link doesn't work for me just now) and that the current name is Old Main. OK, we'll run with Old Main (Nicholas County High School). The main reason why I threw out Summersville instead of NCHS was that the building is no longer part of the school campus, which has moved about 3 miles away. Brian Powell ( talk) 23:19, 18 January 2009 (UTC) reply
