Under the section "Effects on health" and sub-section "Long-term effects", there are no references for {several types of cancer} to this important and hot topic which is of great concern for many parents in the US and I believe the whole world. I found this paper to give a thorough understanding of the topic: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9605119/ Dr Shreya A ( talk) 05:12, 25 July 2023 (UTC) reply

Under "Family Practices" the following sentence is found, "As family sizes decrease, the children's pester power, their ability to force adults to do what the want, increases."

This sentence should read "As family sizes decrease, the children's pester power, their ability to force adults to do what they want, increases."

Causes and Prevention:

Socioeconomic status and the environment play an essential role in childhood obesity. Local access to health food stores/markets will generate a behavioral health and dietary change during child development. A recent study shows that this is taken to reflect the location of supermarkets, grocery stores, and farmers’ markets, as opposed to fast food outlets and convenience stores offering processed food with high sugar and fat content. In USA, the USDA estimates that 23.5 million people live in urban neighborhoods and rural towns with limited access to fresh, affordable, healthy food. Congdon P. (2019). Obesity and Urban Environments. International journal of environmental research and public health, 16(3), 464. https://doi.org/10.3390/ijerph16030464

One prevention that can lower childhood obesity is having kids big taught about what causes obesity and ways that they decrease their chances or ways that they can get rid of obesity, if they have it. I feel like people learn a lot while in school, so for having a subject for childhood obesity or an improved health, would help reduce childhood obesity or obesity in general.
