I have added information about the new treatment using petty spurge, somebody please extend it. Fufu Fang 19:29, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
I wanted to add an external link to a derm site with some excellent images of BCC. Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) Just wanted to run this by the discussion group first. Burrills99 14:13, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
The edit linked in this section heading is non-neutral, and reversion was appropriate pending discussion (and determination of consensus) here. I would favor better citation of the data in the article and claims in general. -- Scray ( talk) 01:38, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Following recent edit warring, I have now protected the page for a week. I would recommend to the editors in question that they try to find common ground, and seek informal mediation if needed. JFW | T@lk 21:05, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
I request that the gallery section be removed, as the gallery violates WP:IG. It does not appear to be part of the current edit war. Yellowweasel ( talk) 20:57, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

The pathophysiology section mentions "trichoblastic carcinoma" as synonymous to basal-cell carcinoma. A quick google search however shows that the term "trichoblastic carcinoma" is used for a rare malignant transformation of trichoblastoma. "Trichoblastic carcinoma is underdiagnosed as it is a rather recent entity which is still not recognized as such by all pathologists. The differential diagnosis with basal cell carcinoma is often difficult to make and the optimal treatment has not yet been established." I have edited this in the article. source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22678003 http://www.dermnetnz.org/lesions/trichoblastic-carcinoma.html Perencake ( talk) 09:57, 3 August 2014 (UTC)

Trichoblastic carcinoma redirects here. It is currently mentioned only under #Physiopathology here. Per the sourcing, it also (presumably[?]) needs to be listed under #Differential diagnoses. 86.186.94.168 ( talk) 19:23, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
This appears in a table of subtypes of BCC, and until my recent edit Rodent ulcer was shown in that same table entry as a synonym. I've found good enough sources to believe that Rodent ulcer is a synonym for BCC in general, and have edited accordingly.
But what about Jacob's? The two sources are print medical books to which I don't have access. Googling suggests it's either an older synonym for BCC, or is specifically a cancer around the eye. Could someone with medical sources and expertise please have a look?
I'm not a regular medical editor, just looked into BCC when a family member got the diagnosis, came across Rodent ulcer as a synonym and was surprised to see it not in lead but as a subtype, then started to look at Jacob's. A classic Wiki-editing rabbit-hole to fall into! Pam D 11:40, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
