If you enter incorrect password for more than 3 - 4 times, the account gets locked for half hour to one hour. What I want to know is that is this facility given by PLESK Control Panel or is it dependent on the WebServer ? [ which is just controlled by the Plesk UI ] The Plesk software controls the timeout, not the server OS. However, here isn't the right place to discuss this. Try the SWsoft fora instead.
I would like to know the possible meanings .. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.92.10.3 ( talk) 09:27, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Plesk on Russian means "splash" (swash; plash). They say wife of one of the Plesk architectors invented that name at night %)

The article on Plesk seems to be (indirectly) advertising the SWsoft company and its products. Please make changes and consider revising the article. Teckie 02:34, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
the article seems factual to me

I agree. The second paragraph of the security section, in particular, with its use of opinion words (easily configured, diligent, 'typically in 3rd party components', etc) offers what sounds like an assurance that the problem has been resolved, instead of data that might lead an impartial observer to agree that its been resolved — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jasonpgignac ( talk • contribs) 19:35, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
It is a factual reperesentation of the Plesk product, with historical insight into the development of software technology in a remote region of the world. I have been a Plesk user for less than 1 week, and have no fiduciary link to Plesk or any competitor.
The article is factual and unbiased. Had there been / if there is a page for cPanel, it'd probably read similarly. I work for a company that resells Plesk, and not one word of it that I have read is untrue or undiscoverable by researching elsewhere via Google. In fact, although I am not the original author, I cannot think of any changes that will still convey a truthful description of Plesk. You write, "Please make changes," but then fail to offer ideas as to how to change it yourself. Remember this is a WIKI, and anyone can change anything at anytime.
The bit about programming remotely is somewhat off-topic, but the article looks fine. What's not NPOV about it? One-dimensional Tangent ( Talk) 00:19, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
This article badly lacks standards.

This article doesn't discuss Plesk's license. It seems like a glaring omission. I added the word 'commercial' in front of the words 'web hosting application' to make this clearer. After reading Plesk's license agreement on SWsoft's homepage I am confident that the word is appropriate.
I would say this is still a stub... should a stub template be added? Tim 06:25, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Only one on the market? See ZPanel article.
"The company behind Plesk, SWsoft, operates principally from Herndon, Virginia."
As far as I know, SWsoft is based in Russia. --

Its headquarters are in Herdon, VA. Its R&D is in Moscow and it has sales offices in Germany and Singapore. Missy Prissy 22:05, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Hey there, I'd like a chance to rewrite this article. Please do not delete. TruckMonkey ( talk) 21:29, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
I've combined the security and criticsms into one section. I removed the 'problems' with upgrading content because no specifics or references were given. TruckMonkey ( talk) 22:02, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
I am very annoyed. Sometimes when I try to go on the website known as Holby.tv, the following message appears:
This is the Plesk™ default page If you see this page it means:
1) hosting for this domain is not configured or 2) there's no such domain registered in Plesk.
For more information please contact Administrator.
However, the administrator's email address is none@example.com. It seems to me as if Plesk are nothing but a group of cyber-surfers blocking interesting sites for no reason whatsoever. Will someone please tell me why this is? —Preceding unsigned comment added by George.millman ( talk • contribs) 10:41, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
There should be a classification of competing software into proprietary and open source (/ free). E.g of the latter is OpenPanel.
It might also be better to change the title to 'Alternative software' instead of 'Competing software —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.182.64.227 ( talk) 08:09, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Why would you add 'alternate software' to a page that has to do with Plesk itself? it is more likely to add alternate softwares into pages like 'web hosting' where you should give different alternative to the same solution. YifatAmichay ( talk) 08:17, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
Can someone clarify? It seems like this is WP:REFSPAM but I'd like some assistance to remove the offending parts if possible.
